10 minutes of anime boy whump: ‘nanase riku’ edition

a compilation featuring one of my most favorite whumpees... since there is a limit on video length on this site, I tried to include my most favorite moments so far, but I’ll include episodes that weren’t featured that I liked regardless down below uwu

SEASON ONE:

*episode 1.2

is seen panting hard after playing a game of basketball, sogo shows concern for him and asks him once again later if he is okay

*episode 4

is coughing numerous times from being nervous/anxious about having to watch tenn perform, the others become concerned for him, is tearing up at the end of the episode

0:00-2:33 - episode 5

pushed himself to perform in the rain despite his health, collapses backstage afterward from an attack, wakes up in a hospital (never disclosed what exactly he has, but it’s just assumed that it’s asthma or some other respiratory disorder)

2:34-3:28 - episode 8

inhaler is broken and starts to show sign of trouble breathing right before they are supposed to perform 

*episode 11

planned to confront tenn at the front of his door and talk about how he abandoned his family, but ended up at the wrong room and accidentally vented it all to gaku instead (who didn’t know anything about tenn’s/riku’s history)

SEASON TWO: “SECOND BEAT”

👑 3:29-4:52 - episode 2

panting hard backstage after performing and tries to force himself to do an encore for the fans, harsh coughing and refuses to take nebulizer, is restrained and is forced to take the nebulizer despite pleading to the others to let him continue performing

4:53-7:00 - episode 3

is still coughing (it is mentioned that he is gonna spend the night at the hospital instead of going to the dorms with the others, but that is not actually shown in the episode itself), recovering at the dorms (not shown in this video), gets called out by tenn for his “terrible” performance, starts breathing heavily, cannot continue the performance and tenn ends up taking his place, gets very depressed and sounds like he’s going to cry

7:01-8:07 - episode 5

riku and tenn get into an argument, riku angst galore, starts coughing and breathing hard (having an attack) mid conversation

8:08-8:47 - episode 6

reads comments on social media talking about how iori should replace riku permanently as the center of the group, starts panicking and breathing hard/coughing

note: until episode 11, there’s small snip-its of riku being sad or lost in thought because of iori having to take his place because of his health and since then, their sales have increased for their latest song, so yea... riku is very depressed about the fans liking iori more than riku as the center

SEASON THREE: “THIRD BEAT PT1”

8:48-9:58 - episode 2

men wearing heavy cologne bump into riku and he starts to have an attack, touma carries him on his back and takes him somewhere where he can take his medicine

eichi faints after pushing himself too hard and is taken to infirmary, tears up from the fear of dying from his illness

1:35-3:22 - episode 15 (episode time stamp start: 20:09 until the end of the episode)

hibiki is concerned about eichi catching a cold, eichi almost faints and some eichi angst as he vents about being ill and struggling to catch up to the others, falls asleep on hibiki’s shoulder

3:23-5:49 - episode 22 (episode time stamp start: 0:09 until 2:14 and 5:53 until 6:12)

eichi is coughing and can’t really breathe while he’s in the hospital, feels like he’s really going to die but hibiki (his guardian angel at this point lol) rescues him from his room, more eichi coughing but acts like it’s nothing, eichi is seen panting hard and exhausted

**if you listen closely with headphones, you can actually hear the moment when glenn stops breathing although it is faint in the background
