How does he feel about Gabe and, consequently, Reaper?

Okay, now here you opened the can of worms that makes me cry.
So letâs start from the beginning. Jesse hated Gabe at first. Gabe was the literal embodiment of the man that was taking him down. He was more terrified than not though. And Gabe made a lot of sense, and well Jesse is far from disloyal. So there must have been some understanding that the world he was looking at before wasnât any good. I hc that the gang was going to have Jesse killed, or they attempted to before the raid (thus my Jesseâs fear of birds).
Eventually Jesse loved him. Far from at first and far from quick. But Jesse looked to Gabe. He looked up to the man that saved his life and made him worth a damn. He stands by Gabe, works hard to earn his spot on the force. But it shifts and changes a lot. Some days Jesse sees one of his best friends, a great commander, or someone he craves to be amazed by him. But Jesse has a bad habit of wanting what shouldnât be.
So nothing happens.
Jesse just follows Gabe to the end, and tries to figure out what is right.
But then Gabe goes down a different path. A path Jesse doesnât believe in. And it terrifies him. Gabe always knew what was right so he assumed taking down Overwatch was right. But he cared about too many of them. And he couldnât fight Gabe. So he chose neither.
And he ran.
He ran like a coward.Â
Then he sees the news. He sees the explosion and he sees the deaths. And he shatters. He goes to Gabeâs grave and cries in the rain. A dark figure in the darkness over the grave made for a traitor. And Jesse blames himself. And he believes Gabe would be alive if he fought by his side like he should.
And he fades. He hears voices of those gone from his life. And he remembers memories more than reality.
And then Recall calls. And he stumbles close without touching. And he is trailed by shadows. And fuck one fights like Gabe. And then it clicks that Reaper is Gabe. And he canât.
He canât fight Reaper. He canât fight with all his heart against Gabe. Not when this monster feels like his own creation. He wants to help Reaper, if this is Gabe, then Gabe is stronger than this.
Imo if Jesse would die, it would be because Reaper took his shot and Jesse couldnât shoot back.
