All The Things (I Never Wrote)
Umbrella Academy
Diego Hargreeves/Vanya Hargreeves
Summary: She can hear the distinct clicking of the knife in his hand as it moves from side to side, between his fingers, precise and deadly.
Diego.
He had not lost the talent of being able to catch her by surprise.
Vanya enters her old room cautiously. She hadnât set foot in there in so long it no longer feels like her own. Moving to her old window, pulling away the curtains to look out at the grounds. Feeling an odd sense of deja vu reminded of the times she would longingly look down at the other members of the Academy training, laughing at times to the utter dismay of their father, but together. While she could only imagine what it might be like to feel a part of something.
Â
They would tell her how lucky she was that she was not forced to undergo the training regime that they were subjected to. Five was the only one who understood, would shoot her a sympathetic look whenever they left for another mission and she would remain at home. An ally in a lonely house until he disappeared leaving her alone.Â
Â
âYou left out some parts,â the voice takes her by surprise from the chair in the corner of her room, cast in the shadows, the sun streaming through the window unable to reach it. She swallows deeply, instead of on the figure in the corner of her room, on the sheet music still laid out on her desk. But she can feel his eyes practically boring into the back of her head.Â
Â
She can hear the distinct clicking of the knife in his hand as it moves from side to side, between his fingers, precise and deadly.Â
Â
Diego.
Â
He had not lost the talent of being able to catch her by surprise.Â
Â
She maintains her focus on the pile of papers, fingers moving over the paper, the softness beneath her fingertips, bringing back old memories she had tried to forget.
Â
It was why she had written that book, hopeful that once she allowed those memories, her thoughts, to be committed to paper that she might be able to start to move on. To become her own person instead of living in the shadows of those around her.Â
Â
âYou read it?â she asks, catching his movement in the reflection of her vanity mirror as he shifts in the chair.Â
Â
âThe bits I could manage,â he replies, replacing the knife back into the harness across his chest. âA bit long and self-indulgent for my tates.â
Â
She scoffs at the insult, he never did miss an opportunity to call her out.Â
Â
âWell I didnât write it for you,â she turns to face him, leaning back on the edge of her desk for support as she does so, âfor any of you,â she clarifies.Â
Â
He considers her answer giving a slow nod as he rises to his feet, moving across the room, and she is thankful that with the intensity in his eyes the knife is no longer in his hand. Her eyes flick towards the bedroom door, pondering whether to hold her ground or run away again.Â
Â
âDidnât stop you telling the whole world about us though did it?â The guilt feels heavy in her stomach.Â
Â
âI wasnât going to,â she admitted, casting her eyes down. She had looked at those typed pages in the weeks that followed pressing the final key. Whether now they were out if she needed to go further by sharing the story of her life with the rest of the world.Â
Â
âIt wasnât about exposing you, or any of the others.â She had been angry, sad, confused when writing the memoir, but she didnât place any blame on them, they were all just children. âIt was about exposing him. The kind of man that he was. What he did to us.â
Â
âDid it make you feel any better?âÂ
Â
âNo.âÂ
Â
After it was published and she had done the obligatory rounds with it, and it was discounted in bookstores beyond the ridiculous, she had merely returned to her previous life. There was no grand retribution, she didnât find herself in between the pages of her own book. She just moved onto someone elseâs shadow and perhaps that was where she would always remain.Â
When she looks up he is standing right in front of her.Â
His hands move to either side of her resting on her old desk. He is closer than he should be. She resists the urge to reach out and touch the scar that runs along his temple, wanting to know who had left it there.Â
Â
They were still teenagers the last time they were this close. She was as just as nervous then, her heart pounding in her chest as his hand had moved over hers, his thumb brushing over her knuckles, a touch that was surprisingly tender for him.
Â
He had leaned forward to press his lips against hers. A sharp intake of breath and he pulled away, worry in his eyes that he had overstepped before she rose to her toes and returned the kiss feeling his lips curve in a smile against her lips.
Â
The rest had been a series of late-night meetups, hushed whispers in corridors and hurried fumbles in the Academy's many, many hidden corridors.Â
Â
But in the end Diego had always wanted to be a hero. To prove himself to a man who couldn't care less. And he had left to do just that, left her. Alone again.Â
Â
He considers her carefully, as if he is not sure what to do, caught in the moment like she is. Before his face hardens again, forehead creasing.Â
Â
âGood,â he pushes away from her, making his way to the doorway. The moment slipping past her again.Â
Â
She hasnât spoken to him, not really, in years and she feels the urge overtake her to ask him if she doesnât now she doesnât think she ever will.Â
Â
âThose things I left out,â she speaks up, and he stops in his tracks, looking back over his shoulder at her. âDo you regret them?âÂ
Â
He pauses, his hand resting on the door frame, a sadness falling over his face, âNo.âÂ
âMe neither.â Those moments however fleeting had been too special, too precious to share with the rest of the world.Â
Thank you for reading, also if you have any further suggestions or prompts I would love to write more for this pairing.
Prompt #51
Prompt:Â Climbing Into Trees And Sitting Up There Together As They Talk About Random Things
Vanya had to admit, watching the sunrise after late night patrols with Diego, snuggled together between tree branches, wasnât half bad. And it was the only time they actually got time together alone; now that Klaus had accidentally outed their relationship to their siblings.
Their father had also learned about their relationship, but rather than try to force apart two of his most rebellious children, he simply told them to keep it out of his sight. Which was a bit difficult with cameras and other various recording devices spread throughout the house. But they managed.
And since theyâd found that the easiest way to get time alone together was to be on patrol, and their father assigned more patrols when theyâd misbehave, so Diego and Vanya weâre taking the fall for just about anything and everything they believable could.Â
Needless to say, Diego and Vanya had patrol together roughly three or four nights a week at least. With the exception of nights after missions.
Most of the time, when it wasnât freezing outside, the two would find games or random things to talk, or mock, about. There were many games of i spy, hide and seek, tag, never have I ever, etc. Any game theyâd never been allowed to play, or at least ever played together, would have many rounds and variations until they became bored with it and moved onto the next.
Their patrols would typically start shortly after theyâd been dismissed by their father from dinner and would end just before they were expected to arrive at breakfast with the rest of their siblings and their father. Their father would randomly check in, trying to make sure they were doing what theyâd been assigned to do from after dinner until half an hour after sunset, leaving them to their own devices for the rest of the evening.
And on the nights that the freezing air would seem to bite at their skin more than they were comfortable and were less willing to at least pretend or half-heartedly patrol, theyâd skip all their games, ignoring all contact from their father, and just sit, snuggled together, in one of their favorite trees. Testing how far theyâd get from the house before the cold had gotten to be too much.
There was one night in particular that was definitely among Vanyaâs favorites.
It was in the middle of summer. On this particular night, there was a surprising lack of light pollution, enough so that they could see nearly triple the amount of stars in the sky than they normally could. It may have been due to the citywide power outage. The power grid or something, details, had overheated in the record high heat and hadnât been fixed in hours. Apparently they needed some new part to fix it and it was about a five hour drive from the nearest city that had the right part.
The city had been lulled into near silence almost two hours earlier than it normally did; bars, restaurants, and all other businesses were all closed due to the lack of power. And as the almost silence settled around them and, despite the heat, Diego and Vanya weâre sitting close together on a tree branch.Â
That night they had been talking about starting their band again, or at least Vanya was. âWe should start our band again.â Vanya said, watching the twinkling stars as she felt Diego shift next to her.
Diego, quite literally, popped up from where heâd been sitting in either shock or surprise, Vanya couldnât tell, and as he turned to fully look at Vanya he asked, âWhat do you mean?â
Vanya, now also sitting up, said, âI just thought that when we had our band the first time, it was fun. And an escape, for both of us.â Vanya felt the heat of the blush as it spread across her cheeks as she continued, sliding a little closer to him, âAnd besides, it would give us some more alone time, outside of the house and patrol.â
Once again, Diego pulled away a bit, although this time, rather than looking either surprised or shocked he looked unsure, prompting Vanya to ask, âWhatâs wrong D?â
âNothingâs wrong.â Diego quickly said, âItâs justâŠâ
âJust what?â Vanya asked, âYou know you can tell me anything.â
If it wasnât for the near silence and Vanyaâs enhanced hearing, she probably wouldnâtâve heard Diego mutter, âIâm not sure if the band is something I want to do again.â
Oh. Okay.Â
From the look Diego was giving her, he was probably expecting her to take him not wanting to reform their band poorly. But she didnât. And to be honest, Vanya herself was a little surprised at her almost lack of a reaction. âAre you, you know, okay?â Diego asked her.
âYeah. Of course.â Vanya quickly replied, âWhy wouldnât I be?â
âItâs just, you seemed, I donât know, excited about starting the band again.â Vanya couldnât figure out where Diego was going with this as he continued, âAnd when I told you that I wasnât sure if I wanted to do it again, you just, didnât react.â Oh, right. âIâm just trying to make sure youâre alright.â
âOh, thanks.â Vanya said, âMaybe we can-â
âNumber Two. Number Seven.â Reginaldâs voice screeched from their communicators, âReport back to the house immediately.â
Diego and Vanya shared a look, skeptical as to why heâd call them back to the house; because if it were for a mission he wouldâve told them it was a mission. Begrudgingly, Diego pulled his communicator off his belt and asked their father, âWhat for?â
âI will have none of your frivolous questioning Number Two.â Their father bit back, they could practically hear the anger in his voice, probably with a glare on his face to match, âNumber Two, you and Number Seven are to return to the house immediately.â
Once they were sure theyâd be getting no more orders from their father, Diego and Vanya pulled themselves from the tree branch and started making their way back home. As they walked, Vanya asked Diego âWho do you think got in trouble?â
âProbably Klaus.â
âYeah.â

Prompt #36
Prompt:Â One Sliding Their Hand Into The Otherâs Hair Slowly
The worst part of still not being able to go on missions with her sibling for Vanya, even though she was on the team this time, was not being able to help her siblings. Their father had accepted her onto the team but claimed she wasnât in control of her powers well enough to be around civilians, therefore she had to stay back at the mansion once more while the rest of her siblings saved the world.
She remembered the mission her siblings were on took almost six hours last time, but her siblings had been getting their missions completed faster since they came back to 2002, a newfound sense of teamwork practically visible among her siblings, so now she had no idea how long it would take her siblings to get back. Vanya spent some time helping Mom with chores around the house, working on controlling her powers with Pogo, but mostly she just worried about her siblings.Â
What if something happened to them on their mission? What if one of them got hurt? What if they got kidnapped? What if one of them died?Â
Thankfully her siblings, and father, returned from their mission before her spiral of what ifs⊠could get any worse. Never quite sure how her father will act when he returns from the missions, Vanya elected to hide out in her room to wait out the possible summoning of her father. Instead of hearing her father call for her to join him, and possibly her siblings, she could hear her siblings tiredly walking, or in Fiveâs case jumping, back to their rooms for the remainder of the afternoon.
Carefully slipping out of her room, Vanya quickly walked to Diegoâs door across the hall. She knocked quickly on the door seven times, telling him that it was her. When they got back they made their obvious code based on the numbers Reginald had given them; it was only to tell the person inside who wanted in without having to talk. Vanya anxiously stood outside Diegoâs door, waiting for him to respond. The door quickly opened and a hand on her wrist pulled her into his room.
Once in Diegoâs room, Vanya could see his somewhat messy room, his unmade bed, some of his dirty clothes on the floor, but more importantly Diego. âHi.â Vanya breathed, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips and her eyes fluttering around his face and up to his sweat-ridden hair.
âHi,â Diegoâs hands slid over hers, âand what can I do for you?â
Vanya lightly pulled her hands from his, walking over to his bed before sitting on the edge. âI just wanted to see you.â She purposefully avoided looking at him, instead looking around his room once again before her eyes finally landed back on him, who in turn was watching her with attempted, hidden amusement. âI missed you.â
âI missed you too.â The movement in Diegoâs mattress in the space next to Vanya signified that he had moved onto his bed as well. âIs that the only reason you came to see me?â Diego whispered into her ear, causing goosebumps to spread all over her. Shaking her head no in response, Diegoâs arms curled around her waist and pulling her into him.
It was at this point that Vanya learned how disgustingly sweaty Diego was after their mission. And when she tried to pull away from him, he just pulled her closer. âWhat? Is something wrong Van?â Diego teased, not bothering to hide his smirk, âYou were all excited to see me just a second ago, whatâs wrong?â As Diego continued playfully pestering Vanya, he slowly leaned in towards her face while she was barely able to contain her building laughter.
Vanya slipped away from Diego and crawled up to the top of his bed, laughing as he flopped on his bed in the spot she used to be in as she lounged on his pillows. His head snapped over to her, still laughing, a faux glare fixed on his face; and in the blink of an eye Diego was straddling her, hands behind her head and neck and pulling her face in for an extremely sloppy, and a bit sweaty, series of kisses. On her lips was the most frequent part, but also visited each of her cheeks, along her jaw, her forehead, and even one on her nose.
As Diego continued peppering Vanya in kisses, Vanya moved her hands into his sweaty hair. She contently played with his hair and enjoyed the ferocious kisses until she heard someone in the hallway, seemingly heading towards them. The lack of clicking from heels or a cane indicated it wasnât Mom or Pogo, and their father rarely ever came to them; this is what led Vanya to conclude that one of their siblings was coming. As much as she didnât want to, the last thing she wanted right now was for one of their siblings to walk in on them and then hold it over them, moreso her, forever; so she pushed Diego back and quickly said, âSomeoneâs coming.â
Diego simply asked, âAnd?â then moved to start kissing her again.
Pushing him back again she hissed, âDiego, stop it.â The footsteps were basically at Diegoâs door at this point.
Relenting, Diego scooted himself to the center of his bed and off of Vanya. Vanya quickly tried to fix anything perceivably wrong with her hair as four quick knocks sounded on Diegoâs door. âDiego, showerâs open.âÂ
There was a beat of agonizing silence; Klaus wasnât leaving, probably waiting for a response from Diego. Vanya quietly hit Diego, trying to get him to respond. âWhat was that for?â Diego whispered.
âAnswer him.â Vanya hissed back.
âFine.â Diego whispered, âOkay, thanks Klaus.â
âNo problem.â Klaus said back, he started to walk away before quickly coming back to the door, âAlso, Allison would like to see you Vanya.â
This time it was Diegoâs turn to prod Vanya to answer. âThanks Klaus.â
Klaus did leave after that, but not before calling to them quite loudly, âNow be safe you two. You know, use a condom. And keep it down would ya?â At that Diego threw a pillow at the door which scared Klaus off as Vanyaâs face bloomed a light shade of pink.
Vanya quickly pulled herself off of Diegoâs bed, brushing nonexistent dirt off herself then once again fixing her hair. âI should go see what Allison wants.â Vanya said, pointedly avoiding looking at Diego.
âYou probably should.â Diego agreed, getting off his own bed, standing in front of Vanya, âBut first.â Diego pressed a quick kiss to her lips before literally pushing her towards the door, âNow go see what Allison wants and so I can go take a shower.â
âGood.â
âGet out.â
âLove you.â

Prompt #34
Prompt: Pressing Foreheads Together While Kissing For The First Time
If you had told thirteen year old Vanya that in fifteen years sheâd be kissing a twenty-eight year old Diego, sheâd have told you, that you are insane.
However, twenty-eight year old Vanya would disagree.
They both knew they shouldnât. But they did anyway. Multiple times.Â
They still knew it was wrong. It should have been wrong.
The first time they kissed Diegoâs side was bleeding and Vanyaâs eyes were red and puffy with dried tear tracks still slightly visible.
Diego had been grazed by a bullet from his stupid patrol earlier in the evening.
Vanyaâs, now ex-girlfriend, had broken up with her and was moving across the country in the next week.
He had climbed up her fire escape and knocked on her window while she was crying on her couch. He scared the shit out of her. She scared the shit out of him. For different reasons, obviously.
She dropped her blanket on the floor, leaving the tv running while she rushed to the window. Quickly prying it open she helped him into her kitchen. âWhat happened?â
His eyes flickered from her to her set up in the living room and then back to her. âCould ask you the same question.â His hand covering his side, blood licking his fingers.
Her eyes shifted towards where his hand was clutching his side. âHow bad is it?â she was already moving to get her first aid kit from the bathroom.
âNot too bad.â
âWhat happened?â As she was returning from the bathroom, he pulled one of her kitchen tableâs chairs over towards the window and waited.
She carefully pried his hand from his side, some of his blood spreading onto her hands. She didnât care. It unnerved him every time. âI got shot at.â
She handed him a cloth that sheâd grabbed in the bathroom, he firmly pressed it against his side. âAnd whatâd you do to them?â
âWhat they deserved.â
âOf course.â She pulled the cloth from his hand after sheâd opened the rubbing alcohol.
She soaked a section of a second cloth that sheâd brought from her bathroom. âThis is going to sting.â This was always his least favorite part, she always looked so apologetic when she gave him the same warning every time.
He nodded and braced himself for the imminent stinging.Â
It wasnât the worst injury heâs had, or even the worst heâs come to her with, but by no means was it one of the smaller injuries heâs come to her with. Those nights he just didnât want to be alone.
As she packed everything back into her first aid kit, he could see tears in the corners of her eyes. âAre you okay?â
She turned fully toward him. âShouldnât I be asking you that?â She was giving him a very practiced puzzled look. And he hated.
âYouâre crying.â He watched her freeze, theyâve never talked about their personal lives during these little excursions, much less the emotions that they were both shit at expressing. She was always indifferent. He is always angry.
Diego grabbed one of her hands and pulled her towards him. âWhat happened V?â
âNothing.â
âBullshit.â
She managed to look at him for half a second before her eyes dropped to the floor. âTeagan and I broke up.â Oh. Shit.
âAre you okay?â
âI will.â
He lead them over to her couch, her gaze still on their feet and floor. He glanced at her tv, only to see some stupid romantic movie playing.
As much as he sucks at giving physical affection, heâs spent enough time with Klaus and Vanya, mostly Klaus, that he knows what they both preferred. He grabbed her other hand and gingerly touched his forehead to hers. Like he expected she almost immediately leaned into him, soaking up the given affection. There was a sudden warmth on his lips, and as soon as it was there, it was gone.
âIâm sorry I shouldnât have done that.â He kissed her again. And again. And again.
They still knew it was wrong. It should have been wrong.Â
But it never felt like it was. So it wasnât. And it never was.
Prompt #31
Prompt: I Got Scared At The Pitch-Black Haunted House And Accidently Grabbed Your Hand, Thinking It Was My Friendâs
Diego was never going to listen to Klaus again. Diego was never going to let Klaus convince him to do this shit again. More so, Diego was never going into a haunted house again.
Klaus has been trying to get Diego a girlfriend for the past two months. Setting him up on various blind dates. He even tried some double dates with him and Dave, but there was rarely a second date and never a third.
This time Klaus had tried to set up a group date between Diego and one of Daveâs friends Delores and this douchebag that was one of Klausâs friends who went by âFiveâ and some girl who looked like she was four years younger than the rest of them, Vanya.
Admittedly, Diego thought that Vanya was a lot cuter than Delores was. Maybe it was from Five flirting with both Vanya and Delores all night, which just annoyed him to no end. Or from Vanya profusely apologizing everytime she did something, which didnât annoy him but just made him want to protect her. From who or what exactly Diego didnât know, but that didnât seem to matter.
Just as Diego was getting ready to call this âdateâ of his to an end, getting himself out of another one of Klausâs horrible ideas, leaving Five and Delores to their disgusting flirting, and letting Vanya out of this situation that sheâs obviously uncomfortable with, meanwhile Klaus was too busy trying to make-out with his husband to notice Diego and Vanyaâs discomfort. Klaus told them that they were heading to some haunted house bullshit.
For some stupid reason, Klaus seems to have always adored going to haunted houses, despite the fact that he is the biggest scaredy cat Diego has ever met. Despite Klausâs claims, Diego is fairly certain Klaus only drags Dave around to these stupid haunted houses is so he can hold Daveâs hand when he gets scared. Which is cute, but it would be cuter if Diego didnât get dragged along with Dave and Klaus. Diego ended up riding in Daveâs car with him and Klaus while Five followed behind them with Delores and Vanya. Klaus wouldnât tell them where they were going, other than that it was to a haunted house.Â
The first part of the ride was oddly silent, especially with Klaus. None of them said anything other that Klaus giving Dave minimal directions to their next location.
The second part of the ride wasnât nearly as silent as the first, especially since Klaus just put the directions onto Daveâs phone, letting the phone navigate the rest of their drive, and Klaus turned to face him, the unfortunately familiar smirk grazed Klausâs face before he began to pester Diego about his date. âSo, what do you think about Delores?â Wait what?
âDelores?â
âYeah Delores, what do you think about her?â I donât really know Klaus, havenât talked to her much between Fiveâs flirting. âDo you like her?â Maybe, I donât know. âYou think youâll go on another date?â Weâd have to go on a first one dude. âDave and I wonât go, -â Thank god for that. â-it wonât be as fun but still. So what do you think D?â
âKlaus, dear, leave him alone.â If there had been any reason for Diego to love and appreciate Dave, it would be for the numerous times he could get Klaus to, albeit temporarily, back off in his pestering. âFirst off, he canât answer your question if you keep asking him a hundred more. Second of all, Diego probably needs to spend more time with his date before thinking about making any long term plans.â
After an annoyed huff from Klaus the rest of their ride was spent in blissful silence, barring the occasional direction streaming out of the phoneâs speaker.
By the time that they finally got to the stupid haunted house, Klaus was practically bouncing off the walls of the car. Itâs safe to say that Klaus hopped out of the car before Dave had time to properly park the car. âKlaus!â And Dave chastised him, apparently not for the first time about Klaus literally jumping out of the car.
As Diego was trying to hide his enjoyment of Dave chewing out Klausâs dumbass, again, âHow long have you known Klaus?â Somehow, Vanya had managed to sneak up on him and was now glancing back and forth from him and her shoes.
Keeping his eyes on Klaus doing his weird flirting shit with Dave, Diego replied, âToo long. Why do you care?â
âHe talks about you alot.â
âWhat?â
âKlaus, he talks about you to me all the time.â
Pulling his eyes from Klaus disgustingly kissing Dave, settling on Vanya who was still looking at the ground, no longer glancing back at him. He thought about saying something back. âWhatever he said heâs lyingâ âI donât careâ âWhat did he say?â Something along those lines, instead he walked over to Klaus and Dave, pulling Klaus away from Dave by the collar of his shirt and dragging him towards the stupid haunted house.
Sneaking a quick glance over his shoulder as he pulled Klaus along, he could see Dave following close behind, Vanya a bit after that, and Five and Delores were nowhere to be seen. Looking a bit more Diego could see that Fiveâs car was currently leaving the field it had been previously parked in. âKlaus.â
âYes Diego dearest?â
âThe other two are gone.â
âFive and Vanya?â Why was he friends with Klaus again?
âNo. Five and Delores. Vanya is behind you dumbass.â
âOh. Didnât see that happening. So what do you think of Vanya?â Diego hit Klaus in the back of the head for that. Sneaking another glance at the remaining other two, Dave and Vanya looked to be talking, both having somewhat shy smiles, kind of like theyâve known each other for a long time.
âIs Vanya your friend or Daveâs?â
âVanya is my baby sister.â Um what?
Diego had let go of Klausâs shirt at this point. As Diego was processing why the hell would Klaus go on a double or group date with his little sister. Or why neither of them ever mentioned that Klaus had a sister. Or why Vanya hadnât told him Klaus was her brother. Or why there is a ticket waving in front of his face. âD? You good?â
âIâm fine Klaus,â pushing Klausâs waving out of his face, Diego took the ticket Klaus had been offering him. âWhy didnât you tell me that you had a sister? Or that Vanya was your sister?â
Klaus got a stupid smirk on his face, reaching a bit behind him and pulling someone over. Unsurprisingly it was Vanya. âMy dear baby sister Vanya, why didnât you tell our beloved Diego that we are siblings?â
Wriggling out his grasp Vanya turned mostly towards Klaus, while keeping an eye on Diego. âFirst, stop calling me your baby sister. Iâm literally four minutes younger than you.â Wait, what. Not only were they siblings, but theyâre twins? âSecond, you literally told me not to say anything about us being related.â Of course he did. âAnd third, I didnât even want to come. But you made me anyway.â Um, what?
âWhy didnât you want to come?â The question slipped out before Diego had realized heâd even wanted to know.
Dave stepped in between Klaus and Vanya, clearly used to them fighting or arguing or whatever they were doing, âKlaus loves haunted houses. Vanya hates them.â Oh.
Instead of elaborating any further, Klaus simply began leading their group into the haunted house. Diego could see Dave was lightly pulling Vanya with them, her reluctance to go into the building evident on her face.
Once they got into the haunted house and there hadnât been any scares yet, Dave had drifted from Vanya to Klaus. But as soon as the first monster of some kind, it was a really bad vampire, Diego felt little fingers grasping for his. He didnât have to look to know it was Vanya.Â
Regardless he looked anyway. âYou scared?â Klaus had led Dave further up ahead of them, enough that Diego couldnât see them anymore.
âShut up.â
âYou want to leave.â
âYes please.â
Prompt #29
Prompt: Does That Line Ever Work For Ya?
D: What's a smart, attractive man like myself doing without your phone number?
Vanya had to keep herself from rolling her eyes. This guy, Diego Perez, would send her a really cheesy, stupid, obnoxious pick-up line every day.
If she was being completely honest, she looked forward to getting the awful pick-up lines every day. And she would never tell him this, but they did brighten her otherwise monotonous office work as some pompous asshole's assistant.
Stealing a quick glance into the windows of her boss's office, Vanya quickly typed a short reply to Mr. Perez.
V: Does that line ever work for ya?
She put her phone on her desk and pretended to peruse her emails, awaiting his reply. The quick ding pulled her back to her phone.
D: Every time V
Willing herself yet again to not roll her eyes.
V: Almost every time D. Nice try
Her boss's office door clicked open as she quickly dropped her phone back on her desk. "Ms. Petrov, could you assist me with something for a moment?" Shit, what now?
Vanya pushed herself out of her chair, standing for the absolute wreck of her boss, "Of course Mr. Johnson."
The two walked back into his office, and while she was reprimanded by her boss for using work time as personal time, whatever, all she was thinking about was D.
And when she returned to her desk there was another message awaiting her.
D: Mezzo's? @8?
Vanya didn't even attempt to hide her grin.
V: See you there
