(1/2) hi! Could you help me confirm my inf function? I suspect itās ti, and fittingly enough, I suck at analyzing myself and tend to ask for outside opinions. Thus I feel like giving you info about myself to figure this out wouldnāt work well, since Iām not good at giving relevant and objective info. Instead, is it maybe possible to discuss some issue and you could help me analyze my thinking making process?
(2/2) Examples of āissuesā being the typing of CRās cast, the McElroys or AOC, which youāve all answered before, so itās not too much of an effort for you. You could just listen to my arguments for/against your typings? Iāve been into typology 1.5 years now, so Iāve got the functions and typing well enough down. If thatās weird/too much trouble, feel free to decline! (PS: maybe even this ask itself could be indicative if inf ti sounds right/wrong?)----------------------------------------
The best way to confirm your inferior function is by identifying your dominant function. There is some value in looking at the inferior function in specific cases, such as if youāve narrowed your dominant function down to two possibilities and need some additional information to verify, but in my opinion it should never be the first thing you look for.
Additionally, while I do respect that it can be very difficult to objectively describe your own behavior, I think itās worth noting that I typed the McElroys and CR cast after listening to them/watching them for literally hundreds of hours, and those hours include those people talking about themselves.
Since you have suspicions of inferior Ti a good place to start talking about that is how you came to that conclusion: what behaviors led you to believe you have inferior Ti? Do you have corresponding behaviors that led you to also believe you have dominant Fe? Are you trying to figure out if you have dom Fe or a different dominant function? If so, what is that other option? What behaviors are a source of confusion between the two?
If thatās insufficient the anatomy of an ask posts outline if not specific behaviors the categories of behavior that are helpful to look for and is intended to provide some guidance on how to provide useful information. If on the other hand the problem is that you donāt have enough self-knowledge, spending less time on MBTI and more on understanding yourself in general would be more valuable.
Finally, this is not specific to MBTI, but when you are asking someone to put in more work for you than they do for most people, itās advisable to not make assumptions regarding the amount of effort it will require.
