exactly! i personally love hearing the actors’ thoughts on the characters. it’s the fandom then deciding that the actor opinions are the *only* acceptable ones that gets me. case in point: i LOVE most of SA’s opinions on Oliver, but I’ll forever disagree with his opinion that Oliver wasn’t in love with Sara. And all that works just fine for me until the annoyance of anti-canarrow fans popping into my inbox lmao

i’ve never really been one to need my ship to be canon to ship it. like, i’ve literally shipped characters that never met. characters that were both dead, characters where one was dead and the other married to someone else. 

it doesn’t matter. canon is not a trump card. canon just sor tof .. is. that’s it. like, you get to have the extra pleasure of not just imagining your otp smooshing faces and bumping uglies, but actually see it. that’s it, that’s the only advantage. (and honestly, if the writing is on CW, not even that is worth it. like, the best otps are the one the writers never touch for too long). shipping is not decided by canon or an actor’s opinion on canon, because literally nobody cares lmao 

the whole idea of true love that needs to needs to happen only once is not for me. or that the halves of the otp are ‘sullied’ by fucking or loving other people. and neither is the one where that they need to stay ‘pure’ for each other, whether physically or emotionally… OR that dismissing other love interests as ‘flings’ or ‘not meaning anything’ somehow makes the love between the otp now ‘better’ ‘of a higher quality’. 

these  might be tropes that work for some. not for all. and not for me. obviously, not for you either.

most major ships in dctv tbqh. like, i ship westallen (and i guess killervibe if they’re considered a major/popular ship?) but that’s about it for big ships? (and even WA is starting to bother me because barry is just so bad to iris??? he treats her like a prize he won??? iris deserves better tbqh but being the love interest is super important so i stick with it) like, i don’t ship olic*ty, laur*ver, s*nvers, nys*ra, cc, tc, superc*rp, etc. like, it would be nice if i could enjoy a single one of those ships.

doctor who, i think. i really met some cool people back then. and because of how the show is structured, it’s easy to avoid people who don’t like the same doctors/seasons/companions as you.

i mean, there’s like six people who actively ship canarystorm. same with samaya without the noncon doomworld crap. westlance. namaya (steel vixen?). there’s a lot more from other fandoms (i’m a rare pare shipper?) so i’m not even gonna try to get into all of those.

that jax went to central city during the crossover, saw sara hanging out with oliver and diggle and went, “oh this is what she likes? i can do this!” and so he hit diggle up for his workout routine and that’s how jax got buff overnight.

I'm so sorry �� I totally understand, but there is NOTHING wrong with any of us for being lgbtq+. They did a horrific job and aired a mess that shouldn't have made it out of its initial pitch but one thing we should hold onto is that everyone involved intended that line to be wrong and evil because that's exactly what it is. Wrong.

I’m sure their intentions were good, but those words are gonna haunt me forever. and it’s not like I haven’t heard worse. I have. much worse. but I shouldn’t have to see this on a show I once loved. a show that with its characters actually helped me figure out my sexuality a long time ago.

the thing is, a lot of the time, it’s the unintentional racism, sexism, homophobia, etc, that gets to me more than the intentional. and I know there is nothing wrong with being lgbtqia but I’m always going to have it in the back of my head, and this crossover has just amplified that hundredfold.

what is your favourite genre?

um, gosh. i don’t know! i’ll read anything almost except for crime fiction and horror/supernatural/paranormal stuff. the genre i’ve read most of is probably YA.

12. did you enjoy any compulsory high school readings?

the only ones i can ever remember enjoying were plays - dancing at lughnasa by brian friel and oedipus rex by sophocles (in translation, obviously). the rest were either boring, awful, or both (looking at you, the catcher in the rye, which is the WORST book to ever exist and should be burned in the fiery depths of hell).
