So sickie is at the laundromat. They've been feeling crummy so they skipped school/work/extra lessons and slept in, but felt better wheh they got up. So, errands day.
But the laundromat is hot, they feel woozy. The laundry soap smells strong. The background music is giving them a headache. They manage to wash the first load, but they feel dizzy now. But they have to dry everything. They make it through the wash, but they struggle moving things into the dryer. By the time they finish, they're drained, and they fall asleep on the shitty plastic benches.
Enter caretaker: the friend who's been checking on sickie all day. Who's told "don't worry, I'm fine" all day. Who said they'll bring by dinner and check on them. When the midday texts stop coming, they rush out to find sickie, and they're relieved to see them just napping and not passed out somewhere.
They want to get the sickie home, but they still have 20 minutes left in the dryers.
So they wait, and wait, and wait, and the sickie sleeps while caretaker packs the clothing back in the laundry basket and take sickie back home. Sickie wakes up properly to find soup in the kitchen, a glass of water by their table, and caretaker is in the living room folding their clothes.
I love sappy domestic scenarios.
