Shockwave is well aware that sometimes, things seem to happen for no logical reason. But he decides if he studies Whirl, he might find some sort of pattern to insanity. It was not exactly a romantic relationship, but it also wasn't not that. As long as neither of them asked the other about it, it would never matter, in the end.
