Christian looked startled for a moment, frowning at his friend.

“I don’t think I understand..” Did she mean after school today or after they had graduated. “If you mean today, I was planning on going to the library to read some.” After a brief pause, Christian sighed. “After we’ve graduated, though? I suppose I’ll be taking up shop in my fathers business like he wants me to.”

Eyes flicker, gaze glossed by vivid light ( phone backlight : 80 % ) ---- to the cell gripped in her palms, back to the girl’s features. Curiosity lingers, interest in work pushed back for a brief moment in time.

CHER WASN’T out by any means, not even to herself. When inklings of being ‘attracted’ to women started, Cher kind of... ignored them. Around Clementine (being someone who was so open), it had started to occur to Cher that maybe the WARM & FUZZY feeling in her ears and face when she even THOUGHT about Clem meant something... not so ‘hetero’ (as Cher would have put it). It was ridiculous to say, to be sure, but most things she said were. She was a VALLEY GIRL, after all.

There were other signs. Cher started to really be CONCERNED about Clem’s comfort. She made sure her favorite music was always played, got her favorite foods. That itself should have been a direct clue something was going on; Cher HATED punk music, and you’d never catch her eating something as unhealthy as PIZZA. She just kinda hoped Clem wouldn’t notice.

But hey, here they were, having just kissed. She couldn’t have been more CONFUSED. Did she want to do that again? Cher knew what Dionne would tell her.
