Eyes open, she looked towards the stage light, beaming down on her. For a split second, she saw him. Tommy was there, and Yasmin - standing centre stage about to sing a rendition of Don’t Look Back in Anger, finally felt at ease.
Eight minutes later, after being told she would hear from the judges within the next forty-eight hours, she took to the lobby of the theatre, clutching her helmet.
