not sure if you've already answered this, but 15, 23, & 35
15. favorite book you read as a school assignment?
In high school, Antigone! Both the Sophocles and the Jean Anouilh. :D i find the tragedy of antigone really compelling, and the Anouilh play really hit me when I was 15. Cyrano de Bergerac and Romeo and Juliet get honorable mentions.
In university, ooh, I’m gonna list a few because I have no self-control!
Get In Trouble by Kelly Link
Magic in the Ancient Greek World by Derek Collins (yes this was a textbook and im a nerd shut up anyways apparently the pdf is available online it’s linked)
excerpts from The Sixth Grandfather, (transcripts of interviews with Black Elk) -- I don’t love what I’ve read of DeMallie’s takes re: Black Elk (20yo me was ready to throw down actually lsdkfjsl), but the interviews themselves are very interesting!
selections from Hans Christian Andersen’s tales. specifically, In a Thousand Years (realizing this was written in 1852 is really wild tbh) and The Story of a Mother, which is very sad (warnings for death, fairy tale darkness etc.), but parallels a Grimm tale I read often as a child. it was also one of the more interesting lessons in that class.
and as a bonus, Perdido Street Station by China Miéville, which I did not read for class technically but did receive for free as part of a class. I read it that summer and it super did fuck me up. trigger warnings for pretty much everything under the sun on that book, but WOO it’s really something.
23. strange habits?
it is the nature of my ocd that i could not BEGIN to list the number of strange habits and compulsions I have. but I suppose, whenever I make a wish (on a dandelion, on an eyelash, 11:11, birthday candles etc.) I (almost?) always make the same one.
35. average time you fall asleep?
that’s a tossup haha. i have a goal to be in bed by 1am every night, but I don’t hit it as often as i like. so probably a little after 1 is the average. \o/
