When I love you, I love with a depth of lives past. With loves of long ago I believed would last, and dreams for your future happinesses and laughs. When I love you, it's with open mind and open arms. It's without judgment and it's protection from all harm. It's selfless, And yet it's selfish too. It's sharing my rain until your rainbow shines through, Reflecting on me till your true colors find you. When I love you, it's light, keeping the shadows at bay. It's "Make me good enough to love him right, Lord. This I pray." It's a thank you and a plea, gladly made on my knees, Ready to love, Eager to please, Chest so full I can hardly breathe. When I love you, it's from the 7th Heaven to the 7 Seas, Vast divides of space and time in between, Nothing so palpable and yet still unseen As my love. Because when I love you, I glorify every part God built that makes up you, And you'll find that I place no one above you. There's only one thing I can think of that carries me through.
