Imagine existing for literally thousands of years, and despite having deep emotional and carnal desires (all of which are part of her purpose and internal ‘programming’ of sorts) and nobody can turn your crank just the right way (at least certainly not mortals, who contrary to appearances she doesn’t give two shits about in terms of intimacy). At least regular ol’ Sona could find someone and be content. Muse is stuck. She’s too smart to let it get the better of her (for now), but she also knows the bitterness is wearing on her over time. It’ll effect her work. It’ll effect the people she tries to help.

(Well, that’s somehow more terrifying than an angry pantheon.)
