I wonder why so many people fell in love with Stiles instead of Scott, who is the main character. Hell even from the first few episodes. Do you have any thoughts on why this was?
Honestly, I can't speak for everyone, but I think itās something about being the main character- it's so hard to write the *perfect* main character without a lot of people disliking them. And from the first eps, we quickly see Scott McCall fall into the character tier of 'can do nothing wrong' and āis so perfectā.
Then, we see Stiles, who does a lot wrong but it's also so human and relatable that people naturally fall in love with him. And that might be the best thing about secondary characters- they're easy to fall in love with. They're not usually considered perfect or designed to be that way, so people naturally love them.
Personally, I fell out of love with Scottās character after it was obvious he wasnāt exactly... human. He couldnāt do anything wrong or he was always justified for the bad things that he did. But I fell in love with Stilesās character because we all got to see that he was human, a considerable mess, and that was the best thing about him.
Iām definitely biased because I came into the fandom for Sterek, so I knew the name of the characters and looked for them in the show, but I also ended up not liking Scott because he just never struck me as an engaging character.
Again, I canāt speak for everyone. But Stiles was a character that really stuck out- not just because of DOBās acting- but because he seemed to really reach to the audience better. And I think a lot of people relate to him because of that.
I probably just rambled for a few paragraphs but maybe this helps? Iām never good at putting my thoughts into anything well-worded XD
