Anyone who pays an ounce of interest in history should know that so much of the age of Enlightenment all was birthed around the back of knowledge that comes from Arabic culture. One thing I was wondering, where would a pasty white guy purchase an awesome keffiyah and do different colors or patterns have significance?
Yes, 700 years of Islamic Spain had truly brought Europe from the Dark Age to the Enlightment. Also, you cannot forget that the Crusades actually had allowed many Christian Scientists to find an abundant amount of wealth of information on that topic.
However, the shameful part is many European Scientists take credits for inventions and information that they had simply stole from Muslim Scientists centuries ago. I guess that's what happens when you have no Patent laws. As for the Keffiyah, there are three types of Keffiyahs/Male Headresses:
1. The Black and White Checkered (Keffiyah)one that is worn mostly by Palestinians, Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq with some small Bedouin tribes still donning it.  In Iraq, many Shiite Iraqis mostly wear it to distinguish themselves(correct me if I'm wrong) and it is more widely checkered that the Levant Keffiyah.Â
2. The Red and white checkered one(The Shamagh) which was introduced by the British to the Jordanian Army and is now worn all over the Arabian Gulf, (notably KSA) and worn by Kurds in Northern Iraq and all over Arab World actually.Â
3. The Ghutra or the Completely White Headdress which is worn by the Eastern Arabian Gulf such as Kuwait, UAE, or Qatar.Â
There are other colors you could find. Lol, you could buy them ANYWHERE, trust me, check out Ebay, there is a wealth of information from there.
