This is the costume that started it all. My first cosplay EVER and my first @whedoncon #whedoncon2017. Upgraded it some for #whedoncon2018. And I remade it completely for #whedoncon2019 this summer and now I’m going to have my first actual shoot with her on Sunday! I’m so excited. This group started as a HalloweenBuffy shoot based around this costume/the episode it’s from but now we’re collecting other Buffy and Halloween themed costumes for it. It’s going to be AWESOME! It’s the end of April which means @whedoncon is just over a month away and, just like the last two years, I am starting to question my cosplay intentions. When is start feeling this was I like to look back and see what I was able to manage last time I felt this way. So here’s an opportunity to take look back with me at my first two years at #whedoncon2017 and #whedoncon2018. That pink dress in the top right corner of as the FIRST picture of me in my FIRST cosplay ever. And in less than two years I have come leaps and bounds and made things I never thought I’d be able to make, worn things I never would have thought I’d wear. Cosplay has changed my life and I am SO proud of each of these costumes. And now I’m really excited to see what I make to bring and debut at #whedoncon2019! Bringing out a little #glowup for #waybackwednesday. This one is much more of a personal and professional glow up than a costume upgrade; the only actual change to the dress is a new waist bow. In my first year of cosplaying, I learned A LOT about wigs, posture and underpinnings changing the overall look of a costume. On the left is my FIRST foray into cosplay at #whedoncon2017 and on the right is the same costume a year later before the panel I spoke on during #whedoncon2018.
