And so ends a FABULOUS day. BuckyBound went amazing! The people who noticed my arm loved it, got some stranger validation and it was reflective and Cap never came down stairs (that we saw) but he was able to see and compliment it from upstairs which was awesome. I find myself…missing things. I things I have been missing a lot for the last year and a half but that I didn’t think I was ready for again. I miss friends. And cons. And Cosplay. And amazing moments like this. Where you get to see your friends, people you look up to, and fangirl over their costumes and props and experiences. I have been so busy my last few conventions that I missed out on these moments and I can’t wait for the majority of us to feel safe enough again to get together in these settings, so I can make the most of these interactions with people so near to my heart. She saved the world. A lot. . I missed a VERY important day this week. The birthday of miss Buffy Summers. I honestly don’t have the words to fully explain what @sarahmgellar as Buffy Summers means to me. Many many moons ago this was a show that brought my brother and I closer to our mother when we were younger. The school used for Sunnydale was very close to my home and I remember feeling even closer to this crazy strong heroine because of it. The struggles and battles she fought for me through high school because if *she* could survive it so could I. Buffy’s pink Halloween gown was the first costume I remember loving outside of the Disney umbrella. Years later that costume was first ever Cosplay. This is just the tip of the iceberg, I can wax poetical about Buffy any day of the week. But now I want to take a moment to wish a happy belated 40th birthday to Buffy Anne Summers. Thank you for being the hero I needed to get to this point in my life, and the strength to survive the last year. . . .
