Maynooth’s Demon, Denial, and the Horror of Rhetoric House
In the 1840s much of Ireland was looking to God and begging for answers. Political turmoil and religious conflict collided with the Great Irish Potato Famine bringing immense suffering to the Irish people who seemed to be losing everything and everyone around them. To many young men, the priesthood could promise many positive things during a time of crushing uncertainty like a connection to divinity, the opportunity to help heal the suffering all over the land, and the ability to serve in their spiritual beliefs. For some, it was a way to guarantee a roof over their head and a meal on their plates. Laying just outside of Dublin is Maynooth’s St. Patrick’s College, the training grounds for Ireland’s Roman Catholic priests since 1795. The school was operating less than a century when it was allegedly marked with unexplained horror.

In 1967, with the openeing of Disneylands new attraction "Pirates of the Carribbean" the last thing eager fans expected were to gaze upon actual human skeletons. The attraction was made to be a walk-in wax musuem that costs Disney a pretty penny (approx $15 million at the time), however with all the money sunk into it the designers could not create realistic skeletons.
With the designers stumped on what to do they turned to an unlikely ally, UCLA (University of Claifornia Los Angeles). With the procurement of human skeletons they proceeded to place them all throughout the attraction.
However, with the advancements of "fake skeleton technology" they began replacing the real skeletons with fake ones, giving the attraction a lighter, less dark feel to it.
Some do say that they still use a few real skeletons here and there for effect, but who knows.
If anyone has any more information on this please let me know because it is a really interesting topic!

06/24/21 - Otter Rock, OR - WHAT HAPPENED HERE? - Always something different out here on the coast: yesterday, this stretch of rocks was a nice sandy beach. I guess this must be why we don’t see surfers on this stretch. Also a nice reminder to know the lay of the land before you go diving into the surf. No doubt, by tomorrow morning, all this will be covered up and we’ll be back to nice sandy beach.
On this morning’s bird walk in addition to Brown Creepers, Red-breasted Nuthatches, and other cool birds we saw this mystery item. It was found on the trail about 75 yards from the pond. We have a few guesses, but we would like to hear yours. #SpringInVermont #WhatHappenedHere #NatureMystery (at Birds of Vermont Museum) https://www.instagram.com/p/CM7SUVMhohZ/?igshid=1oqrcrmhndrvf
