Can't believe I just now realised that the reason Beam is so weak is because most people aren't that afraid of sharks anymore.

I bet he was at his peak when our ancestors were sailing the high seas back during the Age of Discovery.

Then he probably lost a little power during the industrial revolution.

And then he got a big boost again thanks to the release of Jaws.

Now it's the 90s (when the series takes place) and sharks are starting to be viewed as these misunderstood creaturea who got bad rep and there's this new push towards conservationist.

Also shark week started in 88 and made sharks less scary and more cool.

Not that I'd be thrilled to come face to face with a shark, but I'm still more likely to get shot or die in a nuclear war than encounter a shark so no point in being scared.

Even if Beam is weak he's still the fucking GOAT

Saved Denji, helped him defeat Typhoon, even rescued Reze despite all the shit she did to him.

He's also really fucking durable.

I guess at the end of the day Beam is just too lovable to be feared.
