Instead of looking at what makes me different as a deficiency, I look at it as an ASSET. So when I walk into any room, I relish in standing out (instead of shrinking to fit it). ... My first job out of college was in Ad Sales at a social gaming company. I'd go to happy hours, mixers, conferences... and would be the only brown girl in the building. I loved it. 😊😊 It made it easy for me to approach strangers. I celebrated the fact that they'd probably remember me b/c no one else there looked like me. ... Occasionally I have moments where I feel "less than"...and in those moments I try to cultivate gratitude, pride, and belonging.
