the australian twink in the 2004 gay doctor show, s1e13: i have a troubled relationship with my estranged absent father and have resented him all my life and i am having trouble coming to grips with the fact that, though he knows he can't make up for all the time he missed out on, there is not malice in his heart and he doesn't want to waste what time he has left

guys i cant bretahe
ive come to realize that one of my least favorite tropes in all of fiction is the ''this one character is terminally ill and knows that they are dying'' plotline. Like I don’t know why this pisses me off so much. It doesn’t matter if said character is a man or woman (tho I hate it more if they’re a woman) but its like my empathy switch immediately gets turned off the moment i realize what’s going on. Which is another problem I have. You always immediately know that the character is dying. I hate how these sick people creep into other peoples lives to make their impact with their knowing smiles and sad eyes thier weird sweaty skin courtesy of the makeup department. Its fucking creepy. I’ve been trying to figure out for ages why Kal Ho Naa Ho pisses me off so much despite all its got going for it (preity, almost prime srk, made in 2003, great music, etc) and just now it clicked. I hate dying character movies. They are so sinister to me.
