is tango/whisky considered a rarepair? either way, i fuck w it hardddd and wish there was more content out there about them
not sure it’s considered a rarepair but fuck it let’s talk about them anyway
whiskey is sUCH a closed off person and his face is pretty neutral most of the time. but he does really like being around tango because tango never worries about trying to look cool or stuff like that and just does whatever the fuck he wants, and also he’s a fun extrovert
tango, meanwhile, has correctly decided that whiskey’s impassiveness is actually blanket permission for tango to do whatever the fuck he wants. which includes peppering whiskey with questions about whatever’s on his mind (regardless of whether he thinks whiskey actually knows the answer– when do you think samwell started its computer science department? are pigeons adapted to live in cities? what’s in the tub juice?) and whiskey will answer, usually dryly, but he answers every question tango asks. and if he doesn’t know, he says some bullshit with a straight face and they both pretend tango believes him
as the resident extrovert of the two of them, tango seeks whiskey out a lot more than whiskey seeks him out, and he worries for a little while that maybe whiskey is tired of him but eventually he just asks (because tango is good at asking hard or emotional questions) and whiskey’s like WHAT absolutely not i love having you around and whiskey usually doesn’t sound very emotional when he talks but he’s so bewildered and freaked out by the idea that tango thinks whiskey doesn’t like him that it kind of seeps into his voice
and from then on whiskey makes sure he doesn’t just rely on tango to turn up whenever and goes to see tango as well and it’s great

whiskey absolutely has a massive crush on tango but he’s so good at fake chill (even better than nursey, who abandons his chill to argue with dex roughly once a day) that nobody knows. except ford she sees all
eventually once whiskey gets his shit figured out and tango loses his title of best wheeler on smh (he kinda stops once he realizes none of them are whiskey, but people don’t know this– tango is also pretty good at smokescreening through shittons of questions when he wants, so he loses his title to bully but he doesn’t mind) they become that one couple that nobody understands how they work together?? until they see them together and then they’re like oh.
like what i’m thinking is how serious whiskey is and how he doesn’t really seem interested in anything but hockey and, to a lesser extent, classes, and tango is all over the place finding new things to be interested in and people to talk to and he’s so curious about everything, and nobody understands how two people that different could possibly work together, until they see them together and they’re like ohhhh.
because tango chats about whatever’s on his mind and whiskey hangs on his every word and sometimes tango asks really weird questions just to get a really weird deadpan response out of whiskey and they both think this is the height of humor. and tango seems so much more physical than whiskey– like, he’s always leaning on him or he’s got an arm around his shoulders, but whiskey always reciprocates he’s just bad at initiating
so what i’m saying is that tango is a top
