# Explore N° 6 # Bergeronnette printanière ( Motacilla flava - Western yellow wagtail ) by Le Papa'razzi La Bergeronnette printanière, du nom latin « Motacilla flava », est un petit passereau insectivore à la silhouette trapue. Au printemps, sa couleur jaune dominante, son dos vert-olive et sa tête gris bleutée barrée par un sourcil blanc marqué, la démarque des Bergeronnettes des ruisseaux . La Bergeronnette printanière remonte du sud en petits groupes avant de se séparer pour nidifier. Très territoriales, elles ne supportent pas la moindre incursion d'un autre congénère. Le nid est fait au sol, composé d'herbes sèches et de poils ou de crin. 5 à 6 oeufs peuvent y éclore au bout d'une quinzaine de jours. C'est un oiseau des prés humides et qu'on retrouve en grande quantité dans les champs cultivés de colza. Elle affecte particulièrement les milieux herbeux ouverts, proches de l'eau où elle peut trouver sa nourriture.
