The white wagtail (Motacilla alba) is a small passerine bird in the family Motacillidae, which also includes pipits and longclaws.

Yellow (Motacilla flava) and Citrine (Motacilla citreola) wagtails from my last walk along the lake. At one point I was surrounded by all three wagtail species that live in my city; the yellow ones were foraging near the waves, the citrine ones were walking in the grass, looking very much like little lemons, and the white wagtails were peacefully taking a bath in the puddles.
