I am a quintessential West Coast-er. Currently in gorgeous Vancouver, BC living in the best neighbourhood in the city—the West End. I live with my husband who is also the love of my life. I moved here for him 7 years ago and I have enjoyed every minute of living in this city, even when the rain lasts for 9 months some years.
I was born and raised in a suburb of San Francisco, and it was there I grew to hate the cultural wasteland of the suburbs. In my teenage years, I hung out in San Francisco whenever possible and soaked up the Punk, Hippie, Asian and Latin culture as much as I could. My parents are very conservative for living in The Bay Area, and I rebelled against that at an early age. The majority of my close family still lives in The Bay—brothers, sister, parents, nieces and nephews. I get there when I can, or I see my family in Palm Springs, California where we have a tradition of visiting frequently.
Between San Francisco and Vancouver, I lived in Seattle for a few years. I lived in the First Hill/Capitol Hill area of Seattle, which is known for its Gay and Alternative Culture. I enjoyed my time there, and still visit frequently.
