AU where Macklin gets turned into a werewolf while away at the Olympics, and doesn't tell anyone when he gets back because he gets scared shitless by fellow werewolf Connor McDavid.
Except when he's in big old wolf form, he also gets big old wolf brain, and unfortunately he doesn't have the ability to censor or stop himself from just rocking up at Will's door every full moon.
On the first full moon when he's back in San Jose, he just bounds his way over to Will's place, and smashes through a window in order to get inside.
Will of course, is scared absolutely shitless. Here he was, lying in bed. Sleeping peacefully, distantly wondering why Mack had been in such a strange rush to leave earlier, when a giant fuck off wolf breaks in through his window.
Mack however is just sitting there, panting because he's a little tired after bolting across town to get to Will's. Wagging his tail because it's Will! It's Will! It's his best friend!
However it's too dark for Will to see the puppy like wagging tail, and he painfully misinterprets the panting as the wolf drooling over the sight of it's next meal. Meaning of course, Will panics.
He makes a break for his bathroom. Only just managing to shut the door behind him. Ends up having to wrap his shirt around his hand to break out of his bathroom window, so he can climb out and run out to his car.
He of course, tries calling Macklin. And he only gives up after maybe eight or so missed calls. Leading him to instead divert and start driving to Toff's house instead.
On the way, the fucking wolf starts following him. Somehow keeping up with him going over 50 mph in suburban streets, but he books it once Will's bronco reaches the highway.
When Will rocks up at Tyler's house, Cat at Toff are trying very hard to be understanding even though they do not fucking believe him even a little bit. Which of course drives Will nuts.
Meaning the next day he doesn't tell Mack, who has absolutely zero memory of what he'd done as a wolf - which is pretty normal according to Connor, so Mack's just got to hope he hadn't done anything too strange.
Meanwhile Will keeps having to tell Patty that no, he did not take hallucinogenic drugs. And no, schizophrenia does not run in his family. He really did see a giant fuck off wolf that was probably about twice the size of him. Why does nobody believe him????
