I am 16 and I am so done with this stupid life. I am not even close to be proud to say I’m an Indian. So so ashamed to be an Indian. I face gender discrimination, I do. I face domestic abuse. For what? Insulting my brother. He sits there doing nothing, doesn’t leave the house to buy stuff from the shop just beside the house. So I called him a girl. Is that wrong? I don’t think so. My father and mother discriminate between my brother and I. What’s funnier? He’s younger to me. We girls are told, “Civil Engineering, Pharmaceuticals and other jobs which require communication and socializing don’t suit girls. Girls have to do jobs that make sure they leave after finishing the cooking and send off their spouses and kids and also return home before their spouses do.” Girls in India take 3 months off from jobs for their wedding ceremonies. Then they barely go back to their jobs when they have to take leaves for maternity and child care. Then after that they are bound to their spouses and kids. I believe it should change. So it should happen. It’s just that we don’t have enough unity. Like kids in America decided that gun control should happen, it did. They started “March for our lives” movement. Now one important thing is they united girls and boys. If men in India help women fight, they will see the change. Less of divorces, less of fights, less of martial dispute murders and most importantly education rate will rise. The position of India will rise to a developed country. All we need is a little change. The death of 17 kids made us realise that we should control guns. Now do we need the death of 1700 girls to make us realise gender equality is needed? I hope we’ll see change. I’m pursuing BiPC and competing in national level for Medicine seats.I hope I’ll make it to a nice college. Let’s bring a change. The biggest problem is women are against women’s freedom. Let’s change it. Let’s start with our Grand Mothers and Mothers. Are you in?

What is this world? Who are we people? What makes us different? Is it destiny or fate? Or is it our personality that we can alter? Or is it in our DNA, a genetic disease causing one person in a group of people to differ from the rest? Why are there stereotypes that one must follow to be liked? Just because you do not follow them, it does not mean you break the law. Or are stereotypes a new set of rules. Is it illegal to be unusual now? Why are we picked on and teased because of it? It is not our fault...well, it is, but it is nothing bad. Or is it? Why must we, the small group whose thoughts and preferences may not match one whom is titled Average, be punished? Why is it so wrong? We are judged. I'm not just talking about people who sing in class and have a fashion sense that doesn't match the norm. I'm also talking about those people that find their own gender attractive but not the opposing. And those who find both just as attractive. And those who suffered a gender defect at birth, those that just know they were born the wrong gender, or maybe they just feel more comfortable as the other sex--they all have their stories and not one of them is less important. I'm talking about those people who lack in something that an average person would have, the disabled, the blind, the deaf, the dumb, those who have been, oh, so carelessly titled retarded. I'm talking about those guys that have another colour for skin that might not be within that Average group. I'm talking about everyone. Everyone that has been called weird or different or unusual or strange,  or crazy or stupid or a psycho even though they aren't. We are all human. We are all people. We all share this Earth as a place for residence. We need equality. Don't hate us. We are just like the Average. It's just like one Average person's favourite colour might be pink and another's might be blue. One might love the opposite sex and one might love the same. One might be male and one might be female. One might be fair-skinned and one might be dark-skinned. Equality is really so important. Why isn't it upon us already? We need equality!

In light of all that is happening and has happened in history,BLACK history I fully support the protest and the marches, what I will say is that I hope and pray everyday that this becomes a movement, not something we soon forget about or stop fighting for. The world needs a spark, WE WILL set it ablaze.
