Michael Jackson..2 years Later (Tribute)
Note: for the record I have been a Michael Jackson fan since i was a child, I got a video of me dancing to Michael Jacksons "beat it" so dont try me, im not one of these people who jumped on his bandwagon after he died. When people talk about the greatest of all time they speak of people who came into their respective professions and changed their field of work forever. Michael Jackson single handedly changed the music industry forever. For all of his childhood Jackson was practically raised on the stage and saw the acts of great soul artists such as Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robsinson, Diana Ross to name a few. At a very young age he was taught to combine stage techniques seen from the temptations and other soul groups, mixed with his god given voice his credibility began to increase. As years went on and he grew up, he went from the little amusing boy from the Jackson 5 to a world wide phenomenon with his first solo hit single "off the wall". However, this was just the start of an amazing 40 year career, after his album "off the wall" sold like hotcakes Jackson came back with an album and an image that would change the music industry forever. On November 30th, 1982 the release of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" came out, this album had the genre's of rock, pop, and R&B. The album ended up becoming the most sold album in music history and highly regarded as the greatest album of all time. This album ended up stealing the grammy's as he won 8 awards that night in 1984. Jackson continued to make music after this amazing classic such as "Black or White" "We are the world" eventually making the album "invincible" in 2001. He continued to sell millions of records after his prime in the 80's and it was no doubt he was the undisputed king of pop. In his 40 years of being in the industry Michael created a foundation for danicing, singing, performing, music videos and swagger. In a time period in 80's where music artists were following one another, Michael created his own pathand had everyone else follow him, he made the red multiple zipper jacket famous and of course the glove that every young boy and girl would kill to wear. He was the new Elvis, but more flashier and he drove the girls more crazier than the beatles did and they were a group. He brought us the moon walk and other moves that people all over america wanted to do, moves that were never seen in the history of music performance. His music videos were not even videos, they were movies. He was the first artist to come and make movies out of his songs. He was the quarterback of the entire set, directing camermen on how to shoot him and film the sceneries. Michael Jackson has to be the only artist I know in the history of music that impacted all genres of music, all genres in ways were inspired by hiw work. He had swagger that all genres of music can accept, it was not just a pop thing or a hip hop thing, all ages and all people of different cultures could accept. as far as im concerned MJ created swagger, he had a certain style, a way he liked to present himself to the public on stage, a swag that people would kill for. He inspired people all over the world from America to the poorest third world countries you can find. He created music that people back in the day loved and younger generations could embrace. Throughout his 40 years of being in the music industry from the time he was 8 until now, his music lived on from decade to decade and now the he is gone, it will continue to live on...the world will never see another Michael Jackson....before him there were many but after him there will be none..thank you for the memories Michael..thank you for making me dream...thank you for making me dance...thank you for making me smile...your music shook the world.. Peace and love as always, AliÂ
