Coming up next is Miss Davianna. Sheās 9 years old. She dances at DDPAC. She has been dancing since she was 3 years old. Davianna started competingĀ when she was 4 years old. Her favorite style of dance is Hip Hop. Yes, Me too say it again for all the people in the back!!! Funny I actually have Hip-Hop tonight. But, her acro skills are likeĀ āTo infinity and beyondā :) She loves to do the illustration in Jazz and the Floss in Hip Hop. Her favorite competition is Celebrity (Me too I went there this year to. It was Oklahoma City, Oklahoma). She says itās because the competition makes you feel like you are a real celebrity. (Thatās what I love about Celebrity too! Davianna wants to do another open solo with either a jazz/hiphop style. She likes doing that style because she loves doing her tricks. Her favorite costume was herĀ āScary Spiceā costume from her spice girls dance she did.The reason she loves her studio is because theyāre arenāt about winning they are about their dancers being able to grow as dancers. My studio I dance at has the same morals as well. My director has told me this since I started competing when I was 5 years old.Ā āItās okay to win something huge time to time, but itās okay if you donāt win that doesnāt technically mean youāre not a bad dancerā. Every dancer has their strengths, weaknesses, challenges, and sometime bad performances but that does not mean your not a great dancer. Iāve heard this over and over all the time it really took my own awareness to realize this. It really isnāt about winning all the time just because you donātĀ get that double or triple platinum does not mean your are not a great dancer this supposed to help us grow and show off what we can do! Back, to Davianna now her dance family there is just like her second family. Her and her mother both love that there is no pressure from the studio at all. But, Davianna tends to put a lot of pressure on herself. Trust me Davianna I being doing this now for 12 years. Putting all that stress and pressure on yourself later on in life with interrupt with you growing as a dancer because you put limitations on yourself. Iāām 17 now and what I tell people is that it doesnāt matter if you win or donāt win, You could still be recognized for something the person who won everything didnāt do like you did. Keep It Up! Youāll do awesome things Iām sure of it.
