If you desire to form an attraction to a Reformation writer, may I mention Sebastian Castellio? A brave and compassionate man who advocated against the persecution of heretics, a better writer than Luther, and definitely a less rebarbative personality.
Alas, the rebarbative personality is a plus for me, at least from a safe distance of 500 years.
Hand bedecked with cobra clamps and other fashionable accessories, off to mend some irrigation.
(I hope you accept repeated submissions for this photo request. I have fun seeing the glimpses of what other people are doing with their current day/life history which it brings forth.)
Ohh I really like this one! The transhumanist aesthetic... repeat submissions actively encouraged btw! Lovely to catch up with a hand I've already met.
Friend Hope, have you voted in the Australian Bird of the Year poll? Would you like to? You don't have to be Australian to vote. (The only downside is that it is very hard to choose.) You might also simply enjoy reading all the bird blurbs.
I had not been aware of this poll! I did enjoy reading about your guyses very excellent birds. I voted for the satin bowerbird because I appreciate their artist's soul, but it doesn't look likely they'll survive this round of voting. I think they'd have more votes if the picture showed their work and not just their face. I admit to being tempted by the southern emu-wren because describing a bird as an "extremely poor flyer" is a sure way to open my heart. Curious to hear your pick and/or thoughts if you'd like to share!
An assumption for the game: you don't like to swim in the sea. You've tried it before and were dismayed at its vastness.
I feel like I would love to swim in the sea, but since I can't swim this will probably never be tested! The sea's great I think and I enjoy it's horizontal vastness very much although I can definitely imagine that if I could swim I might freak out about having some vertical vastness underneath me.

Personal hand facts:
Only my thumbs have those pale crescents at the base of the nails.
I used to have obvious weightlifting callouses, but they're gone now.
My hand are quite broad/chunky, I think? And seem to have relatively good grip strength, through sheer luck. I used to work at a usually all-female place where there was a kind of timer you had to twist apart to change their batteries - they were usually very stiff - and other people would get me to open their timers for them. Because I am a very unaccomplished person that made me feel useful.
The last picture contains a bonus mantis which I thought you would like.
Feel free, nay, encouraged, to reply with personal hand facts of your own.
Your hands do look strong and capable to me, I can believe they have good grip strength. But then we have the lovely mantis photo which reveals the gentol side of these hands... (also the mantis has hands of their own so that's a whole bonus hands right there)
Do I have any good hand facts to share? I can tell you the saddest thing that ever happened to my hands which is when I went back to visit someone I used to live with a couple months after moving out, and when I went to say hi to their pet rats who I had known since they were widdle babies one of them bit my finger!! The only rat bite I ever got, how soon they forget a friendly hand....
I really like the way you're encouraging people to engage in one of the most ancient of human activities: putting images of hands on walls.
I hadn't thought of that and it's a lovely thought! I am seeing why it's easy to find volunteers for these things, everyone gets to contribute something of themselves in a pretty low-pressure way that's still very distinctively them you know...
You blazed a set of photos of very glossy pigeons :-D . Soon many will see their glossiness. What a good use of one of Tumblr's odder features.
it's a pleasure :) they're good photos I hope they will delight whoever gets assigned to see them
