Hi!! I've been going through a lot of the old asks lately, and I realized there isn't too much on not-a-date!Welling, and I think it's a bit of a shame since I'm actually quite fascinated with this dynamic and how Welling's perception of the MC changes!! One of the routes I've played is an MC still having a crush and going to the festival with them, but just under the amount of romance points needed for Welling to ask MC out.
I want to know more about how their path differs, how they feel about meeting the MC again and realizing "oh, MC DID feel that way back then". It's also interesting from the perspective of not-a-date!Welling being able to form alternate relationships while date!Welling holds on. Did their crush go away? Did they start to see less likelihood of their vision? How did they see MC in that long stretch away?
Since their feelings for the MC differ whether or not it was officially a date, I'm also interested in seeing how Welling deals with their feelings between date and non-date scenarios and how long it takes their feelings to catch up in non-date! Like Welling was able to put that crush away on the non-date path. Is it easy for them to slip back into it? Is it surprising to them? Like, date!Welling is already all-in while non-date!Welling has obviously let some of it rest while they were apart.
Could you give us some crumbs on how non-date festival Welling is doing?? They are so interesting to me, I wanna pick their brain
Hi! ⥠This is long and Iâm sorry if I missed any of your questions!
I think youâre talking about non-date, low romance flags Welling? Since one of your MCs went to the Canterberry festival with that Welling? Thereâs that Welling and the non-date, high romance flags Welling. The difference is that the low flag doesnât ask and the high flag, asked, and was denied.
So, the non-date, low romance flag Welling never asks to make it a date because they didnât feel that strongly, romantically, about MC and suspected that the MC didnât either. Their view of the MC slides more to friendship over the years. If you pursue that Welling later on, theyâre more.. puzzled, but not at all displeased by the shift in their dynamic. They expected the budding feelings between them would begin during their teenage years. So when it didnât occur, they assumed the⌠feeling, they had when they met MC wasnât meant for them. Fast forward six years and that draw to the MC actually begins to take root. Theyâre tickled by it. Was it meant to go this way? Perhaps they shouldnât have been so quick to assume it wasnât for them. Theyâre curious to see how it unfolds.
Non-date, high romance flag Welling that was denied the date genuinely believes it just wasnât the right time for them and MC. The Canterberry festival was the final step Welling needed to truly know that what they felt was real. That MC is that one for them. Now, Welling only asks the MC to make it a date if they know without a doubt that thereâs something growing between them and the MC. So when the MC says no, they understand itâs not because of disinterest, but circumstances. And since Welling never gets that realization that âthis is my person,â they donât feel the strong desire to wait for MC. Yes, theyâre interested in them, but it hasnât solidified into anything substantial. So they have fun, date, etc. Then when they see the MC again, that initial pull they had when they were a teenager returns. And now theyâre older, the MC is more stable⌠itâs a good time to try again and see if the feeling is true. This Welling makes not so subtle comments to show MC that theyâre still interested (they directly tell MC they had a crush on them when they were teenagers during orientation). Theyâre confident that they can pick up where they left off.
