It was a bit embarrassing, crawling back like this like a dog with its tail between its legs. He’d honestly thought he would have been tracked down, hunted like a dog and dragged back. Hadn’t the Invictus showed that he was possessive to a near dangerous degree? Perhaps the Master had done it for a bit of attention, but it didn’t really matter. Months had passed and no angry Invictus had come for him. The Master had gotten the aloofness out of his system and was now faced with only one choice, returning and praying he’d be taken back.
He took a deep breath and unlocked the TARDIS door, letting himself in. His hands were shaking a bit and he looked nervously around. No sign of the Invictus in the console room. Maybe it was possible to pretend he’d never left? That he’d just been lost inside the ship? No, lying to him was impossible. With that in mind he set out to look for the Invictus, hoping he’d be forgiven and taken back.
