Dudes my house creeps me the fuck out. We’re renting it right now, and we’ve only been here a few months, but it scares the shit out of me. We found splatters on the walls and the ceiling when we first moved in that looked like dried blood. Every so often we hear knocking in the walls, not creaking like a house settling, actual knocking. We’ve all seen shifting shadows in our peripherals in rooms where the light should not be affected at all except by someone moving. Every so often the dogs growl for no reason. Yesterday I tried to take a nap and I woke up because it sounded like someone was pulling on the doors. I was the only one home, my boyfriend and our roommate were both at work. I’m glad the doors were locked just in case someone did try to break in. The back gate was opened too, and I had made sure before lying down that the gate was closed and the dogs were inside. Anyone who is at the house alone whether or not they’re usually afraid of being alone is uneasy all the time. We made a theater room in the garage so it would be easy to make the room dark, but anytime we’re in there we constantly are turning our heads toward the main house because we hear shuffling or knocking or dishes shifting or a door creaking when there’s no air blowing to influence any of it. And what I noticed the very first day moving in that the boys didn’t notice until I pointed it out today, was that on the wall above the recliners in the living room there’s a stain and four studs in the shape of an upside down cross. And the wall that it is on is the wall where we hear most of the knocking.
