Am I the only one getting like, form letter style "let's collaborate," comments on my stories on ao3? It's the whole, if I had a nickel thing, but I can't help but to think these are extremely form-letter.
The first one was a little better at hiding it. (Personal info hidden because I won't be advertising anyone here)
I apologize for the small print. I went to my inbox and both of them were mysteriously gone, but I still have at least this one in my email.
Let's take a look at this, shall we? I love the compliment. Thank you. I do enjoy bringing a story to life. One of my favorite things to do. And bringing depth and personality to-
Wait. These characters already have depth and personality. I'm just expanding on that? And then we move further?
"Your characters remind me of the best heroes and adventures" Yeah, I should hope so. They are literally superheros in an active major franchise?
"...imagining them in visual form is so exciting I'm sure they'd look amazing illustrated!" It's at this point I'm officially certain you, bot, did not even read my story and I am more amused than offended. Honey, baby, sweetie, sugar-puss, dumpling, doll. They're already wildly illustrated in many many many formats. Over and over again. They are not my original characters. Which you would know, if you had read it. But! "If you cared, you would actually be here right now!"
No, Tony will not be stepping out of the suit, because this is absolutely not a real person.
That one was on uhm... Afraid of the Dark.
This next one is on- Well, I'll let them tell you.
The greeting. So formal. All the capitals in their places. My goodness, you could just say, "hey bitch." I'll answer.
Stating the name of the story you're reviewing is clever, but it's posted directly on the story? So it's hard for me to not know which story you're reviewing.
Also, collaborate on a paid project? Who's paying whom?
Plus, the exceptional capitalisation but no punctuation? My goodness. I just don't know what to think here.
