It was four in the morning. Why in the hell would anyone be at his door at four in the morning?
Winters grabbed a pistol and went to the door cautiously, peering out the window to try and get a better look. He couldn’t believe his eyes for a moment, waiting for them to adjust to the low light before he truly processed what he was seeing.
There was one of the Payday gang at his door. Highly inebriated, as a matter of fact.
After taking a good long scan across the yard and it’s surroundings, He opened the door and put a hand on the drunk man’s shoulder; trying to steady him as he gave whatever he assumed was an explanation.
As the man passed out, he kept his hands on him; finally picking him up to carry him in. He’d have to worry about the mess later.
He’d set the heister on the couch;having slid the man’s shoes off and placed them outside, trash bin beside him on the floor, as he went to get some pants.
Deciding that some of his jogging pants would fit, he took Houston’s disgusting pants off and helped him into those.
Both dignity and embarrassment lost on him; he’d helped plenty of his men in similar situations before.
After he gathered that Houston was situated for right now, he went into the kitchen to brew some coffee.
There was no way he was going to sleep now.
