One leg rested on the other, arms crossed over his chest as he glanced back to the television screen every now and then. If he thought about it, it was actualy pretty odd realizing he was having an a l m o s t normal night with anyone besides himself. And Michael wasn’t even bothered by it.

He felt content.

“ Well, I don’t have anyone besides someone I neglect to call my mother and maybe some people down the line. Who the hell knows where they are. So no. ”

His mother. T h a t was a sore subject. And if Houston chose to ask about it at some point, Winters felt itd be the best choice to answer and get it out of the way. But it was something he preferred not to think about most of the time. It just wasn’t healthy to linger on those thoughts.

It just seemed a little odd if he were to think for a moment he and Wick were on good terms. He was still a criminal. And he wasn’t sure if this was supposed to come as a threat, or if it meant Wick knew something that he shouldn’t have.

The thoughts were truly bothersome. Something Michael probably wouldn’t admit on his own or address verbally. It just wasn’t a good idea, and chances are it’d just make Houston 20 times more paranoid of his own surroundings and situation he had his leg currently stuck in like a damn hole full of quicksand. Houston got into trouble often. And for whatever reason, Michael always found himself pulling the other man out of it. To cut the shit: He knew exactly why. And it was horrible to think about on his own time. Fuck. “ Alright. If that changes, let me know. I’m not doing a thing besides relaxing until I feel the need to sleep. Or if you fall asleep first. “ He shrugged, glancing back to Houston after a moment. Jesus, he looked tense. Like hell he was sleeping first. But again, he’d stay up as long as he needed to to make sure Houston was comfortable enough to close his eyes for a good while. Michael had plans to move upstairs to the bed if he didn’t sleep within the hour. “ How about we talk about something else. Seen family lately? “
