He can't have people feel pity for him or see him as fragile or he'll break out in hives (metaphorically)
This tends to manifest in him not wanting to ask for help when he needs help the most. Asking someone to pass a spoon when he's cooking? That's fine. Asking for a day off when he's sick? Sure! But ask for someone to grab medicine? Have someone else cook for him? Have someone else take care of him? Deeply uncomfortable and he will grow irritable at the idea of someone helping him in that direction.
