ENROLMENT WEEK: VFX INTRODUCTION
My first (unofficial) week of university! This week was mainly an introduction onto the course, meeting the rest of the VFX students and the course leader. As a way to ease us into the course, and well, a way for us to get to know each other better; we were given the task to create a believable 'ghost story' influenced by historical events or places in Norwich. With most of us foreign to Norwich and it's history, we went on a legendary ghost walk from 'the Man in Black' to gain inspiration for our projects.
Splitting into groups, my group and I came up with a story that intertwined with both history and a classic ghost tale. To go with our ghost story, we had to provide visual proof of the haunting, whether it be a picture or gif. We decided to base it at one of the local churches we visited during the tour, and as our story goes, is home to the ghost of Sir Sebastian Dougal III whom was falsely accused of being a thief...leading to his untimely demise of being thrown off the church tower. A fate many thieves and grave robbers faced had they been caught.
Overall I genuinely enjoyed this week, and I'm looking forward to what else awaits me for the rest of the year. I was worried I wouldn't quite understand the software and the methods we're going to be using, but I'm glad that we're slowly going to be going into the course and going over basic tools in softwares.
