Dabi is such a complex character. First of all - heās INTENSE. I honestly respect him for his independence, especially the fact that he wasnāt manipulated by All For One. Yeah, he was āsavedā by AFO, but the moment he just didnāt give a crap about all the manipulation and walked out of that hospital anyway? Brutal move. Pure guts. š¤š»
Heās extremely traumatized, and in many ways, that trauma is what keeps him going. His life has been reduced to revenge pretty much, he wants his father to see him, to suffer, to acknowledge him. Itās heartbreaking and frustrating at the same time. š
Iāve talked before about the tragedy of the Todoroki family, but Dabiās part of it hits especially hard. Heās strong, powerful, and determined, but underneath that, heās a deeply wounded person. His flames burn brighter than Endeavorās, but they also destroy him, a perfect metaphor for the way his rage consumes him.
Thatās what makes him so compelling to me: heās not just a villain for the sake of evil, heās someone whose entire existence has been shaped by pain, neglect, and the desperate need to be seen. š„ŗš
