He’s extremely traumatized, and in many ways, that trauma is what keeps him going. His life has been reduced to revenge pretty much, he wants his father to see him, to suffer, to acknowledge him. It’s heartbreaking and frustrating at the same time. 💔

I’ve talked before about the tragedy of the Todoroki family, but Dabi’s part of it hits especially hard. He’s strong, powerful, and determined, but underneath that, he’s a deeply wounded person. His flames burn brighter than Endeavor’s, but they also destroy him, a perfect metaphor for the way his rage consumes him.

That’s what makes him so compelling to me: he’s not just a villain for the sake of evil, he’s someone whose entire existence has been shaped by pain, neglect, and the desperate need to be seen. 🥺💔
