Ok, I don't know if this is bothering you or not but we NEED more David Webster reader-inserts, there are so few of them and Eion Bailey is so handsome??? Like??? Come on.
Do you mean David Webster x reader? If so...Y E S. Because Eion as Web is fine asf. But honestly he mad goofy, too. Like I can't take him seriously half the time. đđđ Like look at him
đ€Ł Anywayyyy here's some David Webster x Reader Headcanons
tw// kinda lemon-y
Please, do not play with this man, especially since you can't read him. You don't know when he gets something, or not. Sarcasm might be seen as truth to him. Or, your truth may be something he overthinks and has him spilling his sentiments through ink in his journal he keeps close to his chest. Or, he may crash out because...He's David Webster, and why can't a joe crash out for the hell of it? And when he crashes out, everyone knows he's crashing out, and Joe Liebgott can't even handle it. So, just...understand and treat him as a tenderhearted man.
He's an intense kisser. Or does he kiss intensely because every time he looks at you, he looks at you with those blue eyes hooded under your scrutiny. Mesmerizing. Captivating, really, when he draws you closer, never breaking eye contact, and claims your lips like it ought to be done. Skin on skin. Cheek to cheek. Fingers in your hair, an arm curled surely around your waist, kissing you the same way every time, regardless if there's an audience or not.
He has a weird paradigm of noticing things. On one hand, he'll note things about someone or something that no one else notices. On the other, half the time, you feel like facepalming at how slow he can be when it comes to social graces. Congrats on taking out the left flank of infantrymen disguised in the snow, but, God, Web, could you please not ask the mayor of the German town when he got his toupee installed? And that you ask because his last piece was chestnut brown, but this time, there were some blonde strands woven in? There are just some things you don't need to point out.
Jumbled mind, simple guy: Physically, it doesn't take a lot to satisfy him, but mentally, you might need to understand how the tragedy of Prometheus relates to humans and their morbid fascination with creatures on land and in the sea. Verbally, he's not one to weave poetics, but the man's a novelist in between bits and pieces of sketches and hashed out notes. He's not a fan of the war. Why should he be? Mr. Harvard wants to be buried deeply in ichthyology books, not scraping gore off of his machine gun. He's not a fan of you risking your life, either, but he'll not press on your need to be at the front. Your reason is as valid as his. The hell's a suburban, dreamer of a college kid obsessed with sharks doing here?
He's pretty hairy, especially his chest and abdomen (google Eion Bailey shirtless, guys. đ). Sometimes, when you're bored, you'll braid his body hair or make tufty volcano formations. He'll forget to flatten and undo your handiwork at times; when he takes his clothes off to change back at the field, the men laugh their assess off at your creativity. He just shrugs and says that at least he's got someone waiting for him who doesn't require an hourly rate. That usually shuts most of them up for good.
A machine gun isn't necessarily the lightest thing in the world, and it sure as hell weighs more than the average rifle the other grunts carried. Combat and lugging around a weighty contraption is hard work. You fuss at him to eat all of his c-rations so he doesn't get too lean, especially since under stress, he'll forgo food. But Mr. City Slicker has always been a picky eater, and you know he abhors the rations. âYou canât just live off of Hershey bars, Web.â He doesnât believe you.
He sleeps stick straight and doesnât snore. Thereâs not much pillow talk, at all, since he falls asleep in five seconds, sometimes when youâre rambling about something random. You just sigh and cuddle into his chest, bringing his arm around you.
The first time he sees you is when he wanted you. Walked straight up to you, gun in tow, blood and grit mucking up his uniform, and heâd awkwardly introduced himself. Said his nameâs Dave Webster, an American. Did you need help carrying your groceries? AndâŠhelloâŠMeanwhile, you remember wanting to scream and run away, especially with his face covered in camo grease paint, looking like a ghoul. Worked out in the end, and the memories do make you laugh, but he gets confused over your humor. He says he tried his best. You chuckle and continue to play with his hair as he lays on your bosom and continues to read his book on prehistoric ocean animals.
Heâs an expert in swimming. Cares not about stripping down naked and flinging himself into any lake or river you guys visit. Even the ocean. You like hitching a ride on his back as he paddles lazily around, your arms looping around his shoulders. You also enjoy watching him emerge and exit the water in his birthday suit. His body, his mind, is an utter work of art. When those water droplets make their way down his arms and chest, his abdomenâŠW. H. E. W.
He looks utterly handsome in his army greens. He has to wear them, along with the rest of the men, when they visit towns on social calls. His hair is properly done, boots shined, face shaved and clean. When he shows up at your doorstep, it takes about a good ten minutes of you pulling on his lapels, kissing him for dear life as you drag him in. Satisfaction is felt through your hands gripping his back as he gathers you near and returns his ardor. Heâs funnily quick to learn how you want to be held and kissed, showing mastery of his knowledge with utter precision. Okay, then, Mr. Harvard. Those brains arenât for nothing.
âWeb, would you love me if I was a worm?â you cheekily ask. Any other man rolls his eyes, but not David K. Webster. He thinks for a minute. Then ten. Then another half day before he presents to you a carefully written set of pages about how he exactly feels about you, and that, yes, he would take great care of you as a worm. No doubt about it. It just depends on what exact species of worm you will be, from what continent and time period, and what your natural habitat looks likeâ

Enjoy!Â
Webster was unlike any other soldier you had treated thus far. Was it his Harvard education? His good looks? Or the fact that you let him into your private quarters a few too many times.
There was something about him that was intoxicating. He always spoke to you in a flowery language, like he wanted to show off how much he knew. Though at first, it was annoying with the idioms and superfluous words, it somehow grew on you. Once you actually understood what he was trying to say, it was actually kind of sweet.
He came to you with a bullet hole clean through his leg. One of the simplest wounds youâve seen, some stitches and some physical therapy and heâd be good as new.
Though his injury was easy to take care of, letting him go wasnât.
The past few months together felt like a lifetime. It was like you were in high school again. Youâd catch him watching you patch up another soldier. Heâd give you side glances in the mess hall. You both would steal innocent touches of each other, desperate for some type of contact till the night settled.
Tonight wasnât the first night you two spent together, actually, it was one of many, but there was something else bubbling below the surface that you didnât understand.
Webster didnât need to knock on your door when it hit midnight. He knew you were up, waiting for him and that spurred something on in his heart as he entered your quarters. You were laying on your side facing the door, your arm propped your head up, one of the books he recommended in your hand.
You finished your paragraph and closed it. Your eyes trailing up the man in front of you as he leaned against your door.
A familiar click of the lock echoed in the room as he moved towards the bed. It only took him two steps to get to you. He grabbed the book and put it on the nightstand as you rolled onto your back, the biggest smile heâd ever seen on your face.
None of this was new, but his actions never failed to make your heartbeat a little faster.
Webster kicked off his boots before his weight dipped the bed as he moved to straddle your waist.
Though David Kenyon Webster was twice your size, you couldnât help but love the pressure of his weight on top of you.
The robe you wore shifted exposing your bare shoulders to him. He smiled, a few more inches and you would be completely bare to him. Something he loved.
Loved.
Was there love between the two of you each night, he pondered, or was this just a distraction from the horrors of the war you both saw day in and day out.
Webster hoped it wasnât the latter.
Well, at first it was just a distraction, thereâs no denying that. It felt great just to be with another person after so long, he was desperate for relief and so were you.
But now? There was no way that this was nothing more than just a good time. But the inevitable was bound to happen, heâd have to go back to war. You werenât ready for that, you wanted him to stay here with you for as long as he could. But you knew he was pushing it too far already. Four months away from the line. Â
You wanted forever with him.
Websterâs eyes seemed to glow as he studied your face, then your neck and shoulders, down to your cleavage that was threatening to spill out of your robe. No words were exchanged in these few moments, you both were content in your silent conversations in your heads.
You tilted your head as you studied his features, trying to burn this memory into your brain. You looked at the way his hair curled over his forehead, it was thick and you loved running your hands through it. The way that he had parted his lips, something you noticed he always did, as they curled into the cutest smile you only ever dreamed of. He only wore his white undershirt and his Army green trousers. New ones luckily. You ripped his old ones to shreds long ago.
He just sat on you and stared. There was something on his mind. You were about to ask if he wanted to talk but his hands traveled up your sides to the bow that was at your hip keeping you modest.
With a gentle tug, the bow came undone and the material easily fell off your body. Websterâs fingertips ghosted over your bare stomach drawing mindless patterns. Your eyes closed in response, content exploding through your body.
Soft sighs left your mouth as his patterns drew closer to your chest. Honestly, you wanted nothing more than him for just to take you and forego the foreplay. Then again, you didnât know how much longer you had with him and you wanted to remember his every touch, every kiss, every thrust. You needed to remember.
Your eyes fluttered open to look up at Webster. His eyes were blown and half-closed as he looked at you. You bit your lip and arched your back, your hands snaked over his and all the way up to his arms till you had two handfuls of his shirt. He watched as your fist tightened, something glistened in your eyes as you let your lip go.
âI want you, Web,â you breathed, breaking the veil of silence.
He couldnât help but chuckle. âI want you, too.â
âThen what are you waiting for?â
Webster licked his lips and toyed with that question in his head. What was he waiting for?
âCan I not take my time? I want to remember this.â
âIâm not dying,â you tried to joke, âIâll always be here for you.â
âAlways?â He questioned, as his fingers traced the underside of your breast.
You gave him a genuine smile, âOf course, now would you stop teasing?â
Webster shook his head, âNo.â
âI donât like you.â
âThatâs not true,â He cooed, his index finger circled around one of your nipples.
Your breath hitched, he was being an ass. You sighed and yanked him down. Webster was strong, had to be in the Airborne. Heâs proven that time and time again, this time he didnât protest. Ultimately, he let you drag him down to your face, your lips colliding together and melding like you two were meant for each other.
His lips parted, as his tongue dragged across your lips. It was a delightfully sinful. Your fists relaxed and you moved your hands up his chest to the nape of his neck. Gently, you pressed him closer to you, nipping and kissing at his pouty lips. The coolness of his dog tags laid between your breast that sent a shiver through your body.
You needed, wanted, more than just heated kissing. You traced the muscles on his back till you got to the edge of his shirt. Your hands sneaked under, your palms flat against his stomach. Web smirked against your lips, he pulled away to take a deep breath. Web sat back on his heels.
You licked your lips, your chest rising and falling. It was hard to breathe after a kiss like that.
He laughed at the look on your face. Your lips were swollen, your eyes half-lidded, it was cute. As he caught his breath, he grabbed the back of his shirt and pulled it over his head.
No matter how many times youâve seen him without his shirt on, you always smiled like an idiot. It felt like your first time over and over again. The excitement of being with him, and the fear of getting caught. Though, those two emotions sometimes mixed together.
Web threw his shirt to the side and ducked back down for another kiss. He pressed himself hard against you, pushing you against the bed, his hands tangled in your hair. You moaned into Webâs mouth, and he swallowed the sound with ease.
âYou need to stay quiet,â Web warned in between kisses.
âI canât help it.â
He trailed kisses down your jaw to your neck. One hand left your hair to cup your breast. How did he expect you to stay quiet when heâs doing...this?!
You went to undo his pants, his hand wrapped easily around both of your wrists.
âEager,â he breathed into your ear.
âHow could I not be? Come on, Web, I need you.â
Webster looked at your eyes. A big smile spread over his dumb, stupid, cute, face.
âOkay.â
In a second, he let go of your hands. Almost too frantically, you unbuttoned and zipped his pants down. Your hands cupped around his ass as you pushed them and his boxers down his legs.
Web nuzzled into your neck and laughed against your skin. âYou werenât kidding.â
âNope.â
He sat up and rolled off you. A whine left your throat at the loss of contact. Web wanted to call you needy, but he just chuckled instead. He stood and rolled his pants off his body, leaving him fully naked. You perked up as you watched him fully undress.
Goddamn.
Web was never really self-conscious in front of you, the hunger in your eyes at this moment made him want to jump your bones sooner rather than later. You sat up on your knees and crawled to the edge of the bed. His hands rested on your shoulders underneath your robe.
As gentle as he could be he slid the bit of clothing off you. His hands ran down your back, tracing every part of you. You reached and tossed the robe off the bed, ready for what was going to happen next.
When his hands met the small of your back, he pulled you flush against him. The air left your lungs in surprise. You leaned your head against his shoulder and suppressed your laugh against his skin. You wrapped your arms around his neck, and his hands rested on your waist. He rubbed small circles with his thumbs as he tilted his head to look at you.
Webster licked his lips. You ran your hand through his hair, tugging on the strands lightly to elicit a groan from him. He closed his eyes for a second, as he basked at the moment. He dug his fingers into your skin. You gasped and he took that as an opportunity. Â
He immediately started to attack your lips with his own. The force of his kiss almost knocked you back onto the bed, the grip on your hips stopped you. Webâs hands curved around your ass and kneaded into your skin, he stifled your moans with his mouth. The sounds were like music to his fucking ears. Web moved your legs to wrap around his waist as he pushed you back into the bed, his knees held him up. His erection dug into your thigh, so close to where he wanted to sheath himself into.
âGod,â you groaned taking a second to let some air back into your lungs.
Webster smiled a devilish smile that sent a shock wave through your body. Your eyes scanned his face then to his chest that was covered in a blanket of hair all the way down to how close your bodies were slotted together. Both of you panted, staring at each other in a fog of lust.
You rolled your hips into him and a broken groan left his throat. He hung his head, eyes closed tight. You were close to just begging him to do something to you.
One of his hands moved in between you. You were absolutely soaking for him as his fingers ghosted your entrance. He curved his hand and stuck two fingers in you easily. It felt so good to have something suppressing the ache at your core. You threw your head back, trying to hold yourself together and keep your noises to a minimum.
Webster dipped his head peppered kisses along your clavicle as he started to finger fuck you. But you wanted more than just his fingers, you wanted all of him.
As soon as he started he stopped, and before you could protest you felt the head of his erection at your entrance.
Oh, fuck.
He trailed his kisses up your neck to your ear.
âAre you ready?â he whispered in the huskiest voice you ever heard.
You nodded your head, all too eagerly, âIâve been ready.â
Webster shook his head, and let out a laugh. God, he would miss this.
No. He couldnât think that now when he has the most beautiful soul under him right now. He needed to be in the moment, and not think about his future.
He took a deep breath and guided himself to your entrance as agonizingly slow as he could. He could feel yourself adjusting to him, your body has been accustomed to him before but it was always the first thrust that was the hardest.
After what felt like forever, his hips sat flush with yours his cock deep inside you. Your chest rose rapidly, your heart beating against your ribs. Your fingernails dug into the skin on his back as you rolled your hips again, so fucking desperate for some type of friction.
Webster gasped at the sensation and you had to hold back the laugh that bubbled in your throat. He shot a look at you, and he saw the smile on your face. You bit your lip as you saw how his lips were parted, his heated breath scattering across your skin.
That smile sparked his hips to move. He pulled his hips back just as slow as he entered and slammed back into you.
Fuck.
Then he did it again. Just as slow and just as fast. He was toying with you and you couldnât muster up any words to protest, you just let him fuck you like he was. However he wanted, you didnât care, as you were getting off just the same as him.
After a few more of the same thrust, he couldnât take it anymore. He just wanted the pure experience, no more teasing. Websterâs hips dug hard into yours as he rammed you into the bed. Your back arched into his thrusts, and your head fell back. He couldnât help himself as he sucked on your neck, leaving a large love bite that you would struggle to hide in the morning. You drug your nails down his back. You both left marks on each other, lost in the moment.
Both you and Webster were close, and you wanted it to come faster. You hooked and locked your feet around him, bringing his hips ever so closer to you. Your crossed ankles rested on the small of his back, slightly changing your angle making this feel so much more intense.
It was inevitable now. It didnât matter who would come first, as long as you both did. You rolled your hips, again and again, in time with his thrusts. Both of your moans melted together in the room, fuck anyone who heard. You didnât care. All you cared about was how full you felt.
Webster thrusted harder and harder, his hips slapping against yours. You knew you werenât going to be able to walk that well in the morning. Your legs tightened against him involuntarily, keeping him as close as you possibly could.
With two more thrusts, you both came at the same time, high pitched moans echoed in your quarters. Your legs and hips were shaking as he came inside you. Fuck it. It felt good, and you honestly wouldnât mind bearing his child if that meant he would try his best to survive the rest of the war.
What the fuck were you thinking?
You both sat, him still inside you, your legs still wrapped tight around him, in silence. Then after a second, you both burst into a fit of laughter. Web hid his face in your chest.
You slowly unlocked your ankles already feeling the burn in your thighs. As your feet planted on the bed, Webster pulled out of you, his cum spilling on your thighs.
âShit,â he muttered.
âDonât worry about it,â you whispered.
He shot you a look, âWhat happens if you get pregnant?â
Oh, we are going straight to that.
âI donât know,â you were honest, âI guess youâll just have to come back and find out.â
âYou...want me to come back?â He asked.
Even with all his college education thus far, sometimes he could be so thick.
You sat up facing him. You grabbed both of his hands and held them in yours.
âWhy wouldnât I?â
Websterâs mouth hung open, just like it always his, processing what you had just said.
Heat rose up to your face, âUh...do you not feel the same? I donât want to push you into something youâre not ready for. I just thought that-â
âSh,â he interrupted, âI do. I do feel the same. I was afraid you werenât.â
You scoffed, âHow could I not feel something about you Web?â
He just looked at you and shrugged. You hated how cute he looked, how he did something so simple yet it gripped your heart.
You shook your head as you place a sweet kiss to his cheek and stood from the bed. You pushed the covers back and crawled into them as Webster just watched. You couldnât help but roll your eyes as you lifted the edge of the blanket and invited him in.
Webster moved from the end of the bed and climbed in next to you. He laid on his back, his hands cradled the back of his head. You snuggled upon him, your head rested on his chest. You brought your hand up to circle his chest hair between your fingers. You absentmindedly drew patterns across his chest, just like he did to you before.
Ultimately, you both were content in your post-sex high, and just being with each other.
âSo,â Webster stated, âYou donât mind having kids?â
You chuckled, which caused him to shiver. He brought his arm down to wrap around you, his hand rested on your shoulder.
âThis is what you want to talk about?â
He shrugged, âItâs something.â
You mimicked his action. Letting the words hang in the air.
âTo answer your question, no I donât mind. I think after what Iâve seen, itâd be a good change of pace.â
Web couldnât help the dumb grin that was on his face and the thought of little Websterâs running around the place.
It wasnât a bad thought.
But he still had to go back and finish the war first. Dammit.
âPromise me,â you started, âPromise me youâll come back alive.â
You knew it was stupid you make him promise something like that, but after these months you felt you couldnât live without him. You didnât just want him to come back you needed him to come back.
Webster could only imagine the thoughts that were running through your head at that promise. You both were thinking along those same lines.
Synopsis: Joe and you always got on each otherâs nerves, but how long will it take before you both realize how in denial you are about how much you love each other.
You couldn't seem to tell your anger and lust apart from each other. They always made you feel the same thing when it came to Joseph Liebgott. He frustrated you and made you want to kiss him all at once, and you were tired of it. As the only female in Easy Company, it was hard to gain respect from the men, to begin with, but once you showed them what you could do, they all began to respect you. Except for him. His teasing always got on your nerves. âY/N youâre doing that wrongâ, âY/N you run like a girlâ, âY/N Y/N Y/Nâ he just couldn't leave you alone. "Why does Joe hate meâ You grumbled to George in the bar, where all of Easy Company was celebrating their graduation. "Joe?â George asked clearly drunk already âJoe doesn't hate youâ he simply stated as he poured someone a drink. Your face contorted into confusion âYeah, yeah he does hate me Georgeâ you stated back âOh I know, You think I'm talking about Toye!â you smiled thinking you found his error. George simply chuckled at you âNo, I know exactly who we are talking aboutâ he stated. Before you could counteract his idiotic words that the Joseph Liebgott didn't hate you, Colonel Sink came in interrupting everything.  âAt ease Gentlemenâ He stated. You wormed your way up to the front, watching the Colonel give a speech that was supposed to somehow ease all of the worried minds that existed in the room.Â
Your father knew Colonel Sink, hell, your father was General George Marshall and the only reason you were here was that your father allowed it. Colonel Sink loved you, as the only female to serve in the airborne, you were special in his eyes. âI just wanted to recognize someoneâ Sink started and he looked right at you. Your eyes got big and he motioned for you to come onto the stage. You went up, face blazing red, and stood there awkwardly. You didn't notice that Joe was following your every move with a little smile on his face. Colonel Sink shook your hand and turned to the men âAs you all know, this here is Y/N Marshall, General Marshalls daughter, and I just wanted to say that I am proud to have you in my infantry. The first female to serve.. and in my Infantry! Itâs such a blessing!â He stated. You nodded but all you wanted to do was to get off that stage. Colonel Sink turned and raised his glass, âCurrahee!â he yelled. The men followed and you looked at George with a âplease help me outâ look. He only chuckled. Joe turned to see where you were looking and frowned at Georges smile to you. Why was he feeling jealous? He looked down at his beer as everyone resumed and you practically flew off the stage and towards George. He watched you pull him into a hug and his heart broke a little. His facade went back up and he downed his drink.
The boat was crowded as you tried to find a bed to sleep on. George had got one at the top but you refused to climb up that high, so you settled for one a little higher up but not too far of a fall. It was the perfect place until you realized who was next to you. âWell, well, well if it isnât Colonel Sinks pride and joyâ Joe teased from his place next to you. âFuck off Josephâ you grumbled trying to reread the sentence in your book. âAw come on, donât be so uptightâ he playfully pestered as he took a drag of his cigarette. âJoe⊠Shut the fuck up would yaâ you snapped finally glaring at him. âWhy donât you make meâ he suggested leaning forward. You inhaled slowly, trying your best not to deck him then and there. You leaned forward into his face and cocked an eyebrow, âI will end youâ you whispered. His smile grew and he leaned back laughing âAs if sweetheart!â. His comment made you roll your eyes but he finally left you alone. âThat pricks a son of Abrahamâ Guarneresâ voice brought you out of your fairyland that the book brought you to. You looked over at Joe wide-eyed, knowing that if he got the chance to punch someone, he would take it. âHeâs a whatâ Joe asked Bill âJosephâ you warned, you didnât know why you did, it just felt like you had to. âHeâs a Jewâ Bill continued. Your head snapped to Bill and you threw a âwhat the fuckâ glance at him. âJoeâ you repeated but he cut you off âOh Fuckâ Joe growled throwing his cigarette down and jumping down. You watched wide-eyed as Joe approached Bill, and for some reason, you felt fear for Joe. You were confused by this feeling, it wasnât of lust or frustration, it was something different. âIâm a Jew,â Joe said in Bills face angrily, âCongratulations, now get your nose out of my faceâ Bill stated and pushed Joe out of his face. Your breath caught as Joeâs fist rose and slammed down into Bills. A fight broke out and you just watched in awe as the other men pulled the two apart. The fight settled down, but Joe didnât talk the rest of the night.Â
Holland. You were overjoyed to finally meet some people that actually were happy that you were there. Dancing happened in the street, children cheered from above, and confetti flew down like rain. You laughed as Perconte was pulled from the chest of a woman and rolled your eyes at the fact that Talbert was making out with another woman. You felt joy and happiness. Something that rare was welcomed. A man grabbed your hand and pulled you to dance. âNo no I am good thank youâ you responded but he continued to pull, he responded in Dutch. You shook your head but a hand grabbed the one he had and a body blocked your view of him. Joseph stood in front of you and towered over the little Dutch Man âZe zei neeâ he snapped as he threw the mans arm down. âJoseph he just didnât understandâ you tried to reason as he guided you away from the crowds and the man. You threw the man an apologetic look but let Joe take you away. âHe could have been dangerousâ he grumbled. âI didnât know you knew Dutchâ you stated âwhat did you say anywayâ he shrugged at you and replied with what you had said before, but in Dutch. You nodded happily, thinking that what he said was kind, but what you didnât realize that it was simply âshe said noâ but there was a certain feeling in that tone that made the man back off fast. You met up with the other men and quickly forgot about it.Â
It had been months. You lost men, you lost friends, you lost brothers. Bastogne was hard, but Foy was harder. You felt relief run through you once Speirs ran out and took control and you were all finally singing happy songs on the tank. That was until a shot rang out. A man fell above you and you tried to hide but another shot pierced your shoulder. Your yelp rang out as you hit the ground clutching at the wound. You heard screams and then a shot, then applause. Joes face hovered over yours, and it held panic as he tried to talk to you. The pain was so much for you, you had never felt anything like it. âIt hurtsâ you cried out as Doc ran to your side and tore your jacket open. âI have to get the bullet out darling Iâm sorryâ Doc mumbled and his fingers dug into your wound. You cried out and Joe yelled at him to stop, âJoseph I canât. The bullet can kill herâ Doc stated as he continued to dig. You grabbed onto Joeâs arm, squeezing tightly as he looked at you in fear. Fear for what, you had no idea. The pain subsided a little once Doc pulled out the bullet. He poured Insta-clot powder on the wound and put a bandage on you. Joe just looked at you blankly. Doc helped you sit up and then finally stand, but when you turned to talk to Joe, he was gone. âDonât mind himâ Doc stated as you turned back to him âWhy does he hate me?â you asked, Doc looked at you and threw a little smile. âHeâs just in denialâ Doc stated and before you could ask him to clarify he walked away.
Showers. That word made your heart sing, the only bad thing was that as a girl, you didnât really have your own shower. You walked up towards the showers and saw Webster. It had been a while since you saw him and you practically threw yourself into him. âWEBSTERâ You screamed happily as he hugged you back harder âI missed you so much!â You continued pinching his cheek âI missed you to y/nâ he responded trying to get his cheek out of your sharp pinch. You didnât realize that Joe was nearby, but Webster saw the glare he threw at him. âWhatâs up with Joe,â Webster asked looking down at you smiling. You looked over at Joe and he looked away, âBeats meâ you sighed out âHe hasnât talked to me since I was shot⊠SPEAKING OF SHOT!â You screamed again âHOWS YOUR ASS-â âJesus Fuck y/n do you ever shut your trapâ Joseph cut you off as he got in line for the showers. You sent a glare at him but pulled Webster into line with you. âIâm not really sure how Iâm gonna shower but, I guess thereâs a first for everythingâ You giggled at Webster. Webster was always the closest with you, even before George. The fact that he loved to read made it even easier to get closer to him, which was something a certain somebody hated. âHow long has it been since your last showerâ Cobb called out to Webster. You shot a glare towards Cobb but Webster nodded embarrassed and annoyed âIâm gonna skipâ He whispered to you. âOkay Webâ you mumbled sadly. Why were these men so mean to him all of a sudden? Joe sent a glare behind your back towards Webster as he walked off.Â
You turned back towards the showers and realized how close Joe was. âJesus Liebgottâ you whispered, âGet out of my spaceâ. You tried to push past him but he grabbed your arm softly. âYou donât like him, do you?â Joe snarled. You looked at him in pure anger, âIts none of your fucking business if I doâ you growled back. You tried to walk away but he yanked you back. You were chest to chest with him as he looked at you with a fire in his eyes like youâve never seen before. âYou are my fucking businessâ He replied lowly. You scoffed and ripped your arm out of his hand âIâm not even your girl, and if you would ask me, I never will be because youâre nothing more than a prick to me. So leave me alone Joseph Liebgottâ you snapped. You had finally had enough of his idiotic ways. You had enough of his hot and cold moods. You had enough of the way he made you feel. You simply had enough. You stormed off towards Webster leaving Joe standing there in self-pity. âYou really fucked that up eh Joeâ someone joked. Everyone in the company knew about his feelings towards you, except the problem was that he just now realized it. He didnât say anything snarky back to the soldier, for he wasnât wrong. He turned back to face the showers. His heartbreaking just thinking about you loving Webster instead of him. It broke him. He stood in the shower, trying to wash the thoughts of you down the drain. But all it left him with was wet hair and a broken heart.Â
The ride out of Haguenau was quiet. You sat across from Webster and Joe and in between George and another replacement. You were freezing as you cuddled in a little deeper into George. Joe glared at where your head was placed on Georgesâ arm and he didnât even realize he zoned out on your face until Webster nudged him. Joe looked over at Webster with a blank expression and Webster nodded in realization. âYou love her,â he whispered in Joeâs ear, quietly so you wouldnât hear. They thought you were fast asleep but they didnât realize you were wide awake, and that you could hear everything.Â
Joe contemplated the words but looked back at him shrugging. As if he didnât already know the answer. Webster just stared at him knowingly. Joe sighed and looked out thinking and then back at Webster. âOkay, so what if I do?â he stated defensively.
âThen you should ask her outâ Webster answered. Joe stared at him blankly, âI thought you liked herâ he countered. âI donât like y/n as more than a friend Joeâ Webster answered truthfully. To him, you were nothing more than a baby sister. While Joe ended the convo there, you sat there in shock. Then all of the instances came back to you. Georges knowing smile back home, Docs in denial statement, you being his business, it all made sense. You smiled and snuggled in closer to George. You knew Joe wasnât going to just out and pop the question, so you had to force it out of him.
You watched him speak to the Jews. He looked broken but you couldnât get to him, you didnât know why you needed to. But the way he looked was the only answer you needed at that moment.Â
A break came in the sea of Jews and paratroopers and you ran through to the truck where Joe was now sobbing in. You climbed in and immediately grabbed him, making him look at you. âJoe, hey shhh its okayâ you whispered trying to calm him but you just couldnât seem to. Taking his face into your hands you forced his head to yours âitâs okay JoeâŠâŠâ you started and he just stared at you. He let out a broken sob and you just pulled him into your arms as he cried into your neck. You waved George away as you soothed the crying man in your arms. âEverythings going to be okayâ you whispered. You didnât stop rubbing his back until his sobs stopped.Â
He didnât talk much to you after that. His angry outbursts scared you, and his hatred towards the Germans, while rightful, made you fearful. You didnât step in and stop it until Webster told you how he forced a German down and almost killed him. That was the final straw. You knocked on the door of Joes room which was only steps from yours. âNow I donât normally step in on these types of thingsâ you started. He just stared at you from where he sat on the foot of the bed, âBut youâre scaring me Joeâ you whispered out. âThey killed my peopleâ he answered sourly. You gulped but nodded as you took a step forward, you were shaky. He wouldnât hurt you, but his outburst itself would frighten you back into submission. âI know Joseph⊠But killing them all isnât going to change anythingâ You whispered. He looked at you angrily and disgusted âYouâre siding with them?â he scoffed. You shook your head violently âNo Joe I would ne-â he stood up, cutting you off as he towered over you. You planted your feet firmly and looked up at him. Seconds passed, but it felt like years. The tension between the two of you was suffocating. âI just donât want to lose the man I love to angerâ you whispered finally âand I know you like me too, Joe so you canât hide it anymore, so for me, please stop killingâ you practically begged him. He just watched you, taking in everything that you just said to him. Love. That word repeated in his head over and over again. Joe couldnât say anything but he nodded, promising to not kill someone simply out of rage. It was all too much. The anger, the jealousy, the love, all of those feelings had made him in denial. But not anymore. As he cupped your cheek lovingly, it all fell into place. âIâm just so fucking in denialâ he whispered before capturing your lips in his.
Can you do a David Webster x Reader!Air Force Mechanic? I was thinking that David and the reader met each other when David noticed that the reader was reading Shakespeare. They then become very close through letters and eventually meeting up in Europe and falling in love. Thanks! - anonÂ

You were on a rare break, youâre commanding officer had been abruptly called away to a meeting so you had an hour off until lunch time. Around the camp you could see various companies training for battle, and you could tell which CO was the hardest on his men just from the sheer volume of his yelling. You swore you could see the vein in his neck from across the field as he screamed at his men who were stood perfectly at attention.
It had been a week since you arrived and you still hadnât gotten used to the Georgian heat, you had started training to be an air force mechanic further up North where the temperature was more preferable but youâre whole squad had been moved to camp Toccoa and there was nothing you could do about it. You had been told to read over the manuals they had given you at the start of training but you had already read it cover to cover five times, so you were sat out in the sun enjoying a copy of one of your favourite Shakespeare plays, Much Ado About Nothing.
During times like this you needed a little comedy in your life, and though Shakespeare may be long gone he certainly had a way with words like no other. You wished you had packed more to bring with you when you left home, you had an entire collection next to your bed at home and you could still remember all your favourite passages. At school you had to study his plays in your English class and you had fallen in love, doing your best to get your hands on as many of his plays as you could, it was just a shame that no one else seemed to like his work. They always found it boring, or too hard to understand, but the way the words flowed made perfect sense to you.
You had been sat close to the tent they served food in, and you could smell lunch almost cooked. It wasnât the most appealing of aromas but you were starving and anything would do though you usually waited for most of the men to take their place inside first so you didnât have to deal with them queuing up with you.
Soldiers began to trickle inside as they were let go for lunch but you paid them no mind. In the past week most of them had gotten used to having you around camp and now mostly left you alone, you only looked up when a shadow blocked the light on your page. âCan I help you?â you asked, squinting up at the figure.
âIs that Shakespeare?â the man asked, an excited lilt in his voice.
You nodded slowly, âYeah. Why?â
âI love Shakespeare,â he shifted and you could now see his face. He was fairly tall, had a strong jaw line and bright blue eyes.
You smiled, âYeah, me too.â
âYou getting lunch?â he asked, when you nodded he offered his hand, you took it and he hoisted you up. âSo, whatâs your name?â
âY/N Y/L/N. You?â
âDavid Webster,â he replied with an easy smile. You joined the back of the line and quickly grabbed the food that was meant to be a sandwich and took a place together on a bench near the back of the tent that was empty. âWhat do you do around here?â
âAir force mechanic. What about you?â
âIâm a private in Easy Company.â
You chewed on your sandwich, âThat the one always running up the hill.â
He let out a long suffering sigh and nodded. You chuckled, âSucks to be you.â
Another soldier walked past, you recognised him as one from a different company who didnât approve of you being around camp. âWomen should be at home, you know, or in the kitchen. Why donât you go make me some seconds,â he taunted.
âGo away, asshole,â you shoved him away, he stumbled but laughed to himself as he walked away to join his friends. You glared at his retreating form, used to his remarks by now, and bit angrily at your sandwich.
Webster had his eyebrows raised in shock at the encounter, âI can see heâs not in your good books.â
âNo, and if he were I would burn my library,â you retorted without thinking, a smirk coming to your face when you realised what you had said. It took it a second for it to click in Webster's mind but when he did he laughed at the quote. âYou like Shakespeare then, Web? Whatâd you do before you came here?â
âEnglish Literature at Harvard.â You let out a low whistle and he blushed slightly, âYou?â
âA guy in my town went to university to take English and he sort of tutors me. I didnât have enough money to go myself,â you shrugged. Webster felt bad, guilty that he had more than enough money for these things but you didn't seem to be bother by it so he pushed the thoughts aside. âSo, what are your favourite Shakespeare plays?â

David,
They have us doing full checks on the C-47âs at this camp, I think the invasion may happen soon, but Iâm sure you knew that already. Us mechanics have been split into two groups, who goes with the pilot and who stays to cross over at a later date. Iâm going in with the pilot so I might see you over there, wherever it is they decide to drop us. Good luck and stay safe, remember your training and youâll be fine.

We got the briefing. The jump is gonna happen in the next week and Iâm terrified. Did I ever tell you I had the opportunity to be an officer, one of the ones behind a desk and safe from all this. I turned it down because I wanted the experience of being a foot soldier, for my book, which I now regret. What if I donât make it out of the plane? What if I land in the middle of an enemy camp? Thereâs so many things that could go wrong I feel I might explode if I think about it. You better stay safe as well.

David,
Donât be an idiot. Youâll get dropped in the DZ with the rest of your company whoâll have your back. Everything will work out okay. Screw your courage to the sticking place, god dammit. I trust that youâll make it through. Believe me when I say youâll be okay. Besides, Iâll be over there to keep an eye out for you.

Operation Market Garden was a failure and everyone knew it and it hadn't even begun yet. You had been sent in to gather up and fix some army trucks that had been left behind in a retreat, the enemy had since moved out so it was only a quick in an out mission with the other mechanics in your squad. You had internally complained that they had you getting trucks not planes but this is what you had been trained to do, so do it you did.
You managed to salvage the trucks and bring them back to HQ where you could really work on the engine. You were deep in the engine when you heard the gravel crunch behind you, you didnât expect to hear the voice you did, âY/N?â
You spun around and your face lit up as you saw your friend, âWeb! What are you doing here?â
âPassing through, gonna take a town later today they say. Just stocking up on some ammo.â
âWell good luck,â you couldnât keep the smile off your face after not seeing your closest friend for so long.
Someone called for him to hurry up and he gave you an apologetic smile and you waved him off and let him go, as he walked back to join his company you couldn't help but notice how he had filled out a bit more and the scruffy look he was now sporting only added to his looks. For the first time since you had met you actually felt attracted to him, wanted him for something more than friendship.
You quickly stopped your thought track and buried yourself back into working on the engine. You couldnât think of him like that, especially in the middle of a war. Â
---
âAre you Y/N Y/L/N?â a young private came up to you the next day.
âYeah, why?â you asked with a small frown.
âYouâve been requested in the med bay. By a private David Webster.â
Your eyes widened, âIs he okay?â
The private nodded, âYes. This way miss.â
You followed after him to the med bay where you quickly spotted Webster propped up on one of the beds. âWhat happened?â you rushed over to him.
âGot shot in the leg. Can you believe I said âthey got meâ when it happened?â
You smirked at him, âWhat would Shakespeare think?â you shook your head at him in mock disapproval and he grinned. âWhen will you get back on your feet?â
âI donât know,â he grimaced as he shifted in the bed, âNot for a while I donât think.â
You bit your lip, âAt least you get a bit of a break. Iâm sure youâll be better in no time.â
You stayed with him as long as you could, trying to ignore the jolts your stomach made when he looked at you with his dazzling blue eyes. When one of the nurses kicked you out you promised to come back when you next got the chance but you and your squad got moved out that night and you didnât have a chance to say goodbye in person.

David,
Iâve lost track of where theyâve been carting me around. My life is one engine after the other and I get not time to just sit down and read a good play. Itâs amazing I can find time to write this. I hope your leg is doing better. Are you back with your company yet?

Not yet. I can only just about hobble on my leg. The nurses say it could be another couple of weeks before I can leave the hospital. I understand your frustration though here the problem is I have too much time and too little to do. I feel I may die here from boredom alone, if I ever make it back to combat I may go down there (with yet another horrendous cliche line as my last words). I sometimes think I might actually die a bachelor, which based on the marriage suitors my parents have suggested in the past it may be preferable. I yearn to see the lines again. My book won't consist of much if Iâm waiting here, but alas, I canât walk away. Literally.

Sorry to hear your legs still in a bad way. Don't worry, I get the feeling youâll live to see the end of the war. Try and rest the leg as much as possible and listen the the nurses.

The war was over. You couldnât believe it. It was over. You could go home.
You had kept in contact with Webster through the months, though letters didnât come frequently as the mail delivery was slow and you rarely had the time to write back. Still, you knew about him rejoining easy company and being treated as an outcast until he was finally accepted again, you knew about Landsberg and you knew he was now on his way home.
You had volunteered to stay back in Europe for a while, keep tabs on the vehicles and fix them up as much as you could to see if any of them could still be used or go into displays. You still kept sending letters to David and they came each week now, he had invited you to stay at his place when you returned home and you had eagerly accepted.
After all this time your feelings for him hadnât diminished. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and it was no different for you. You just didnât want to go home just yet, you craved the routine and stability being in the air force brought you but soon it came to the point where they sent you home.
The boat ride was long and arduous, though the rocking isn't what made you feel sick. It was the thought of returning home and not have anyone recognise you, or you not recognise them. It had been close to three years since you last saw your friends and family, and a lot had changed in that time.
---
When you had returned to America you and David had helped each other out. Now living together your feelings for one another quickly escalated until they burst. It had been long coming, since camp Toccoa, since Holland. You couldnât place when it happened but you knew you loved him with all your heart and you knew he loved you just the same.
Together you slowly readjusted to civilian life. You were there whilst he wrote his book and went off onto the sea. He was there as you got a job you liked doing. You were there for each other in the night when you woke from another nightmare. And you were there for each other when things didnât go to plan.
You stuck together through everything. It had been an instant yes when he got down on one knee, some three years after the war ended.
---
The wedding was in a week. You were strangely calm. You had seen your friends and family members all freak out at this point but you felt content, this was what was right. You and David lay on the couch together, basking in the soft sunlight that trickled past the curtains and onto you. âRemember years ago in that letter, I said I might die a bachelor?â he asked, his voice quiet and silky in your ear.
You hummed in acknowledgement, you had kept and reread all of his letter during the war and you still knew all of them off by heart. âYeah,â you whispered.
âWell, when I said I would die a bachelor, I did not think I should live till I were married.â
âYou getting cold feet?â you teased.
You felt him smile against the back of your neck and he pressed a soft kiss there. âNo, quite the opposite. I love you with so much of my heart that none is left to to protest.â
You smiled and rolled in his arms to face him, âLove me!..why?â you played along.
âWhen you depart from sorrow abides, and happiness takes his leave,â he replied smoothly and you could help but blush. Even after all this time.
âSap,â you fondly rolled your eyes and leant in to kiss him. This is where you belonged. Next to the man who shared your love of Shakespeare, and could make you feel safe with a single touch. There was no place you would rather be.
