This is progress on my webcomics script
The top of first page has the Piranha Boy logo with a white background.
San Tierra, outside the slums.
We see Jiro trying to catch a fish with his hands, heās in a drainage canal.
My name is Jiro Hinata, Iām 13, and these are the San Tierra slums--my home for the last 3 years.
(When he catches the fish)
The scene changes to Jiro walking āhomeā.
This place isnāt much, but itās better than nothing.
Jiro enters a tent like structure in an alleyway, in the tent Jiroās housemate, Kai, is sleeping on an improvised sleeping bag.
Asleep, as usual. I guess I could leave āem some leftovers after Iām done eating.
Jiro starts preparing to cook the fish, carefully descaling & taking out the nasty stuff from it, after doing so he cooks the fish by lighting a small fire in a trash can.
I was never really good at cooking fish, but hopefully I nail it this time.
After cooking the fish Jiro carefully cuts the fish & puts the piece heās gonna eat on some paper.
āHopefully this is worth spending over 30 minutes soaked in water.ā
Scene jump cuts to Jiro vomiting into the trash bin he used to cooking the fish.
In hindsight, cooking food over a trash bin might not have been my best idea.
Kai: āCan you please shut up! Iām trying to sleep Jiro!ā
Jiro: *continues vomiting*
Kai: āFuck it, Iām sleeping somewhere else!ā
Kai storms out the tent with their sleeping bag, Jiro eventually passes out from exhaustion.
Jiro wakes up from a nightmare & slowly remembers what had happened earlier. After doing so Jiro looks for something to drink, while doing so he finds that he feels oddly better than he did earlier. Then he remembers that Kai keeps the drinks they stole hidden in a bag.
āPlease donāt just be beer, please don't be beer.ā
Jiro pulls out a bottle of a blueish soda.
Before Jiro opens the bottle he notices something wrong, Kai hasnāt come back yet. So Jiro quickly drinks the soda & heads off to find Kai.
āI hope Kaiās safe, the last time they did thisā¦ well, we donāt talk about the Chipmunk Incident.ā
Jiro starts heading trough Kaiās normal route to see where they could have gone & ends up finding a narrow alley that seems to go in for several blocks.
āHopefully this is the right direction. Hopefully.ā
Jiro hears a loud, sharp painful noise coming from the other end of the alley. He goes onto his knees & tries to cover his ears, he feels as if his body was burning from the inside out as he pulls his shirt off to try to alleviate the pain of said heat. As he does so his skin color starts to change from its normal hue to a pale blue, a fin like protrusion comes out of his spine as his body seems to start emanating steam. Before the steam subsides Jiro lets out a loud scream & then, after all the pain he had just been through the steam subsides revealing Jiroās new form. Jiro then heads towards the source of the sound, noticing the features of his new form. Then he exits the alley & sees that two members of the Grasshopper gang are running away from something.
Gang Member 1: āCome on, letās get the hell out of here!ā
Gang Member 2: āI canāt believe you did that, that was literally a random person!ā
Gang Member 1: āDoes it look like I give a damn? Just hurry up so no one notices u-ā
Jiro Stands in front of the Grasshopper Gang member & scares them.
Gang Member 1: āWhat the fuckā¦ā
Gang Member 2: āI thought these guys werenāt out yet?ā
Gang Member 1: āIt doesnāt matter, kill āem!ā
Before the gang members could do anything Jiro tries to punch one of the gang members, but misses & cuts the guys neck up with the fins on his arm. This gang member falls to the ground bleeding out. The other gang member tries to shoot Jiro, but has his gun knocked out of his hand.
Gang Member 2: āDIE!ā
The gang member pulls out a knife & slashes at Jiro getting only one hit before Jiro grabs them & breaks their neck. After doing so he throws the dead gang member into a wall, once he did that he felt cold. Like he just fell into an ice bath, he goes down onto his knees again & slowly returns to normal.
āWhat the fuck just happenedā¦ What the hell did I do?ā
Jiro sees a lifeless body less than 20 feet away from the gang members, it was Kaiā¦
Jiro: āKai no! Kai please! Please say something to me!ā
Jiro looks at Kaiās corpse, Jiroās back is facing towards the reader, heās facing Kaiās body which is silhouetted by Jiroās shadow.
Jiro: āKai please wake up! Pleaseā¦ā
Jiro collapses onto his knees & starts crying heavily.
Jiro: āā¦ please donāt leave meā¦ā
The scene changes to Jiro finishing Kaiās grave, which is a shallow hole covered in rocks.
Jiro: āā¦ I will avenge you Kaiā¦ā
Jiro: āIāll make sure those people that did this to you will pay for what theyāve doneā¦ā
Jiro walks away from the improvised grave with his head facing downwards.
From this moment onwards I swear to fight The Grasshopper gang, to avenge you Kai.
The bottom of the 25th page is completely black & has the Piranha Boy Logo & the words End of Chapter 1.
