❀ Intro 1.1: What is This? A Quick Briefing on 'The Queen's Jewel' ❀
Hello hello everyone! Let's get right down to brass tacks and get this project properly introduced, shall we?
A majority of the things regarding the plot of the story can be found in this post from my main blog.
In a nutshell, it's a magical girl story set in an alternate timeline pre-French Revolution. Alternate timeline meaning there is some advanced technology, mostly things regarding communication (like video calls and instant messaging but nothing really beyond that) and the devices that let people access whatever magical powers they may have, and DRAGONS.
The plot is going to stick pretty darn close to actual history as it follows the life of Marie Antoinette and Elysée, a girl who becomes Marie's close friend and eventual personal bodyguard because Elysée has enough magical capability to use the dormant magic within herself and special magical jewels to turn into a magical girl and fight Dragon Seeds, animals and occasionally people that have been poisoned and put under the control of dragons that seek to wreak havoc as many dragons in many stories do.
Of course, the things I've written in that post are just the initial ideas/rough draft of the plot and things are bound to change as I continue work on this.
I think I've given everything enough explanation in that linked post to spark interest in the project, and obviously I'm going to expand on everything the more I work on this project. The things that have had the most work done on them are the characters, although the actual historical figures kind of don't count as I didn't have to make them up and thus have less work to do as far as their background stories and such.
I'll be reblogging things I've worked on already from my main blog in the coming days, which is mostly just some concept art of the characters and little bits of background regarding their places in the story and their relationships to other characters.
I've had the intention of making a comic involving Marie Antoinette for a number of years and while that intent is years old this project itself is fairly new so there's quite a lot of things to work on still.
Please stay tuned for more information about the project! ❤

In Which I Look for Parties Interested in Making a Howl's Moving Castle BOOK Webcomic
So here's the deal. I'm looking for fans of the book Howl's Moving Castle by Dianna Wynne Jones (though obviously, fans of the movie who are willing to read the book too are also welcome). I'm trying to break a big dry spell in my artistic endeavors, and I want to get together a team to turn the book into an online graphic novel of sorts. It would be a casual sort of thing, and people would be able to come and go as they have time. Writers, artists, any kind of skill level is welcome. If I get enough people interested, I'll form some kind of group so we can start talking and figure out how we want to go about doing this. Basically though, this is my favorite book of all time, and it makes me so sad that so few people realize the wonders of the book compared to the Miyazaki movie version. (which, while beautiful, just isn't the same). So I want to spread the book love while also working on my art. And I'd love to find some people looking to do the same :) So if you, or anyone you know, would be interested, send them my way!
