Dead PC (of the computing kind)
Just before Christmas the mun’s desktop PC gasped its last when it’s bootdisk died.Â
It had been sending out warning signs for months and a replacement HDD was on its way but didn’t arrive in time.Â
Then replacing the dead disk did something to the PSU and now the machine won’t turn on.Â
The computer was new in mid 2011, so it’s likely that everything else is on the verge of failing too.
Unfortunately the mun is poor; hence nursing a computer for more than 7 years. They’ve £100 set aside from xmas money but with no source of disposable income it’ll be another 5 years before they can replace the PC.Â
So we’re considering setting up a patreon or something.
After all if only a third of you, our followers, donated £1 just once it would pay for a new PC. If all of you donated £1 it could be a really good PC. If all of you donated £3 we could get a good PC, pay off our debts and get practical support for the mun and their long suffering spouse.
But I’d have to do something in return, and we’ve no idea what.
So this is a sound out. Tell us if you’d be interested in sponsoring us, by how much a month, and what you’d like in return.
We’ll see how this goes.
