the paladin would by lying if she dared to say she could find safety upon the Broken Shores, but nonetheless she had to try. though Dalaran had since become a safe haven ( and indeed, the people’s major meeting point ) since the Legion’s onslaught, Beau continued to feel a tinge of discomfort within its walls, and thus only stayed there for as long as she needed to.
with each nightfall she returned to her tried and tested method: a well-hidden nook, close enough to the action but far away enough to guarantee a moment’s respite, where she could set up a humble campsite. the fire was low so as not to draw attention, but hot enough to ensure she could cook herself a good and hearty meal -- even if it took a little longer to create.
with that extra time to herself, however, the halfling was able to hone in on her surroundings and properly scout the area. quiet, mostly, though she took note of a figure in the distance, cloaking themselves within the shadows of the night. a quick glance to her shield showed no indication of a hidden demonic threat, thus Beau was more than happy with hailing the other with a quiet wave, and a quiet word:
❝ you’re welcome to join me here, traveler. the night is falling upon us; it may not be wise to travel until the morning. ❞
