Summer Adventures in W Bellevue
During my adventures at Microsoft Hackathon 2019, W Bellevue became my home away from home. I loved the modern, chic decor of the hotel, and the friendly staff made my stay truly an enjoyable one.
To me, one of the main perks of staying atĀ W BellevueĀ is the proximity to some of the best restaurants in the area.
One of these restaurants is Baronās Xiāan Kitchen & BarĀ which is renowned for theirĀ Signature Peking Duck.
A picture speaks a thousand words and I cannot stop dreaming about the crispy skin and tender juicy meat of my Peking Duck. It was so delicious that I devoured the dish in record time and I am definitely returning for more on my next trip.
Another great restaurant worth visiting is The Lakehouse Bellevue which is famous for using seasonal, locally sourced produce to create some of the best looking dishes you will see in town.Ā
Dinner at The LakehouseĀ begins with a beautiful warm corn soup with truffle creme fraiche, chili oil, and dungeness crab.
Next plate is the savory grilled spanish octopus resting on top of sweet roasted corn pudding, green strawberry jam, and crunchy toasted almond.
For crab lovers, you are going to enjoy dungeness crab lettuce wraps featuring a generous portion of dungeness crab meat to be wrapped with crisp baby lettuce and paired with an amazing meyer lemon-curry vinaigrette which provides a nice zesty spicy note to contrast with the sweet crab.
If you love to enjoy more crab, I would definitely recommend theĀ soft shell crab served with charred scallion, heirloom tomato, and thick slices of crispy bacon. It is a decadent delight pairing the best of land and sea into one single mouthful.
For mains, I am a big fan of the lovely plate of Squid ink tagliatelle served with large prawns, sweet clams, soft octopus, and flavorful mussels, all swimming in harmony in a seductive chorizo red pepper broth.
If you are feeling hungry, you have to order their signatureĀ pure country farms bone-in pork chop with yakima cherry drizzled all over the meat, served with a beautiful slice of grilled polenta and a charred onion salad which is mostly for decorations in the presence of the huge chunk of meaty goodness. This version of pork chops ranks as one of my all-time high in my foodie adventures, and I would definitely return to the restaurant just for more awesome chops.
Just before I return back home to Singapore, I had to visitĀ The Lakehouse BellevueĀ one last time to sample its beloved enchiladas suizas comprising of shredded chicken wrapped in freshly madeĀ tortillas, topped with a generous amount ofĀ tomatillo salsa and beecherās cheddar, served with two medium eggs.
Thanks toĀ W BellevueĀ for being a great host during my stay, and cheers toĀ Baronās Xiāan Kitchen & BarĀ andĀ The Lakehouse BellevueĀ for serving me great food while I am in-between meetings and emails.
