@waywardfreckledâ || as plotted?!
weeks had passed since the world as they knew it ended, benny had just begun to find his footing again - had just found a proper home to call his own & a job that paid the rent. a good one this time. he had no desire to repeat his stint behind bars, even though it brought something ... someone into his life he likely never wouldâve met otherwise. things hadnât turned out like heâd hoped, but part of him had known he would find a way to mess it up. heâd had one job, be there at noon - wait in dianaâs diner at the booth in the corner. but he didnât make it. regret haunted his every day, but the life heâd built for himself was a welcome distraction. then everything changed & for the first time in months, benny thought about finding dean again. he did for a while before, but it wasnât easy to find people in the united states.Â
with the world drowning in chaos & the second year anniversary of that date approaching, benny found himself in that diner once again (heâd tried his luck a year after, but to no avail), now he was back again, it was quiet now - the few dead inside heâd taken out swiftly, though it always left a mess to kill. the place had supplies, which heâd happily taken for himself. but benny hadnât come for those. it was early morning, he didnât know why he thought he should be here, but it felt somewhat familiar & he had to camp out somewhere for the night anyway, right? until he found a permanent home anyway if those still existed. the night had been quiet, heâd barricaded the windows to avoid the dim light of his candle staying undetected.Â
he was dozing off now &Â then, sleep these days was restless, but footsteps outside alarmed him enough to grab his bat.Â
