Went to see "Infinite Place: The Ceramic Art of Wayne Higby" at the RAM, Racine Art Museum in Racine, WIsconsin. The show closes on Jan. 4, 2015. Seeing Wayne's work in person was very inspiring. A wonderful collection featuring over 50 pieces of his work, including drawings and architectural panels. From Wayne's artist statement: "Earth, sky, time, space: my work is a meditation on the relationship between mind and matter. It is not about landscape." He says in his Reflection: "Making is a form of thinking and knowing. Seeing, making, thinking, and knowing merge into a process of discovery and self-reification that continually guides me as a meaningful means to navigate the sea of ever-drifting doubt.
