something old, something new | moon && kimaru
Moon probably spends way too much time wandering aimlessly, for somebody with something of an income. She tries to stay busy, she really doesā! But the fact of the matter is that, besides facing the occasional challenger, there isnāt actually all that much to do, as champion. One canāt run a League until it is reasonably established, and Moon is often assured by Professor Kukui that heās got that part all taken care of, cousin.
Privately, Moon thinks that the Alola League might be something like the Professorās lifeās work; his work-baby, outside all the usual research things that professors did. Heād been the one with the vision, ambition and drive; heād built it all from the ground up, literally. If heās the slightest bit protective of it all, then Moon canāt blame him; sheāll aid him, wherever and with whatever she can, but she wonāt deny him his right to want to finish what he started.
Still, she hates to feel useless. So, like one would train a pokĆ©mon, Moon sets out to train herself. People arenāt her forte; sheās not all that great at conversation. But when sheās not receiving challengers at the League, not training her pokĆ©mon or climbing the Battle Tree, sheās restless enough to try anything. Besides, itās not fair that she works her pokĆ©mon hard to improve themselves, if she doesnāt make the effort to try and improve herself too.
Itās slow going. Accosting random strangers with no real good reason is still too weird for her, which means hanging around the Akala Tourist Bureau is the next best thingā that Moon can think of, anyway.
Sheās not even really actually officially employed, but she doesnāt suppose the owner minds the free labour, nor the fact that itās the championās free labourā which is, apparently, supposed to be good for business. Not that Moon is often inclined to flaunt the fact.
If the signboardās any indication, then the latest ship to pull into the ferry terminal has come in from Johto. Watching the passengers disembark as a mass, Moon waits for them to disperse, somewhat. Sheās not yet eased herself into the habit of actively seeking people out, just yet, so she lingers by the poster that advertises āGUIDES AVAILABLE FOR TOURISTSā, and hopes todayās shift wonāt be as slow as her last.
