Making a living as a courier doesn’t pay quite enough. At least not enough to support Beck, her father, and her three brothers. So, the Breton has turned to a more… illegal means of gathering coin: stealing. Does she enjoy it? Maybe. But working as a petty thief and courier for the Guild in Riften pays much more than working as a simple Empire courier, so it’s worth it. So far, at least.

“Yeah, I feel it too,” Niv agreed quietly, coming to a halt. “I don’t think we should go that way,” she added and reached for Beck’s hand, ushering her to head back and find another way.

“Says you. Bold to steal from a fellow thief. Hand it back, now. If it is a meal you want, I will pay for it. Ask nicely.”

“Okay, I see what you mean,” she concluded after having spent a few seconds look about the room. “Can we go now?”

“Yes. S’wit. Much like calling someone an idiot. He was being an idiot, so I called him one. Cursing in another language is satisfying, yes?”

“You know, you could stand to be a little less condescending,” he pointed out. “If you really want us to hold hands, all you have to do is ask - nicely. There’s no need to be a dick about it,” he continued, placing both hands on his things as he bent at the hip, lowering himself to be eye-level with her. 

“Get your ass up here before I come back down and get you,” he hissed down to her.
