Since someone did ask for Aoife, lets go with Darva!

Darva Lavellan

1. His father died sixteen years ago, but Darva still misses him a lot. He’ll have days where it’s harder or easier, but even after so many years it’s really hard to shake off that grief.

2. Over pronounces the “H” in words like “when and what.” It drives people up the walls, but he’s talked that way since he was a wee child. He remembers liking the way it felt when he said it like that.

3. He takes good care of his daggers and has many he likes. He’s partial a lot to the dual bladed ones since he likes the balance and weight of them better than any other.

4. If he was a spirit, he would be one of compassion. Taking him down to his base traits and he is deeply compassionate and caring of others

5. How do they dress? What styles, colors, accessories, and other possessions do they favor? Why?

great that you’re asking about those two at the same time because their style is literally the same lmao. all my ocs differ in some way but ravell and kaz have the exact same style and preference for clothing. meaning, keeping things comfe and sexy is the key. but okay mostly comfe, loose and always black. kaz is also okay with grey and sometimes a bit of green. ravell mostly black, sometimes brown, rarely green or a bit of red. both of them have a thing for scarves, keeping your throat warm is very comfe, ravell also loves some fur, skyrim is a cold, cold place. ravell sometimes loves wearing a long cape for the dramatic effect, def with a hood because of her line of work. kaz prefers a simpler short coat, also with a hood because hoods are,, very sexy if i do say so myself. hhhh i said loose clothing but they both have a thing for tight pants sometimes. knee-high boots are a Must. also, looking like a dirty sewer goblin is a preference. but i think the main difference between those two goblins is: ravell just really doesn’t care about her appearance -> thus the neglected goblin look. kaz looks like that on purpose because he wants to keep up that appearance. and i also made this quick sloppy collage with something they would likely wear:

14. What do they care deeply about? What kind of loyalties, commitments, moral codes, life philosophies, passions, callings, or spirituality and faith do they have? How do these tend to be expressed?

ravell finds it very hard to care deeply about anything Unless…. it’s about her own survival. her loyalties lay only in ensuring her own well-being, never in another person or a cause. she also doesn’t revere any gods, ravell has faith only in herself and her own abilities. her moral code is,, wonky, to say the least. many times she sees no problem in doing bad deeds simply because she….. doesn’t see them as something bad. she is pragmatic and usually wants to get things done in the most efficient and quickest way which might often be.. immoral (see: murder. easy, immediate solution). her philosophy summed up is: nothing matters, only present. it’s either kill or get killed. nothing is as grave as people make it out to be. rules don’t exist. authorities are just people, as mortal and as normal as everyone else.

listen i’m gonna be honest, ravell is just kaz but slightly more polished and kaz is in dai and is a bit more sad and a bit less fun but,, i would say my answer for ravell kinda fits kaz as well. to an extent. the difference being: ravell is simply,, Like That. she doesn’t think about being the way she is, she doesn’t question her decisions, she doesn’t think/care about doing the right/wrong thing. kaz, however, is aware. he knows when the thing he’s doing is selfish, bad or wrong. he questions why is he doing it and does it anyway. he is aware of the consequences, aware of the outcome, he knows he has a choice and actively chooses to do the selfish thing. ravell doesn’t, she simply acts.as for kaz’s faith, he isn’t sure. he is dalish but he doubts the existence of the gods and thus he refused to have a vallaslin. doesn’t believe in the maker either.

21. Most religious VS Most atheistic

Most religious is definitely Aubrey, being a devoted priest of Wael, and most atheistic is probably Ariela, who thinks very poorly of the Gods after the revalations in POE1. I think all of my watchers have at least one God who they kind of share the ideals of, though, even if they don’t necessarily worship. 

22. Biggest reader VS Hasn’t touched a book in 3 years

Biggest reader is definitely Ari, who reads in any kind of spare time she can find. Hasn’t touched a book in 3 years is probably Faenna, because while Mia also isn’t a big reader, she still reads scripts and music for her job, while Faenna spends pretty much all of their time hunting and doesn’t value book smarts very highly.

23. Best at self-care VS Most self-destructive

Hmm... I find this one difficult to answer cos I feel like they’re all very much a mix of both ends of this scale. Aubrey might be the best at self-care, purely because she’s had a consistent approach to dealing with her problems, and it hasn’t gone badly yet, and Mia is probably the most self-destructive because she has a tendency to just ignore her problems and buy things to distract herself.

24. Most flirtatious VS Most modest

Most flirtatious is either Mia or Ariela. Mia loves herself, and takes any opportunity to see if others love her too, while Ariela often flirts by accident just because she’s friendly and pretty physically affectionate. Most modest is probably Faenna, because they’re pretty stoic in general. 

25. Most outdoorsy VS Most indoorsy

12: What is one of the most primary things your OC feels that is missing from their life?

A home. Desta was raised in a temple, but doesn’t really consider the place her home, and after she left she moved around a lot. She liked that life, but she did wish sometimes she had a home she could return to if she wanted. Caed Nua was the closest she came, but then Eothas happened.

13: What kind of situations does your OC avoid the most?

Desta doesn’t like being put in situations that get aggressive- not necessarily fighting, but people arguing and shouting at each other. In her opinion it’s just stressful and counter-productive.

14: If your OC gets into a fight with their best friend, would they wait for their friend to make up with them, or would they try to make up with their friend?

That depends a lot on what the fight was about. Desta is very diplomatic and caring but she’s also extremely stubborn in her beliefs and wouldn’t apologize if she truly believed she was in the right.

7. Where would they go to get away from everyone else and just be alone?

There’s a couple of places! They particularly wind up enjoying nevarra, especially winters (though it’ll never compare to ferelden), and when (redacted) happens, Padril kinda winds up coming into possession of a decently sized estate. WAY too big for just himself, personally, but it’s almost perfect for him, Loghain and their two kids (and I could totally see them staying there permanently once it’s all said and done, honestly). 

14. What memories do they share together that will stay with them forever?

For Loghain, there’s a few: the whole-ass Landsmeet, a particular scene in CH7/8 that Happens, lmao, and literally any moment with their kids. Loghain is a family dude through and through, so seeing Padril slide into the other half of the role is always gonna stick in his mind. When they both started hearing the “calling”, Padril’s reaction will always stick with him. Dude was immediately like I’m GOING to save us without a moment’s hesitation. 

For Padril, two things in particular stick in his mind: ANOTHER thing in ch7/8, lmfao, and when Loghain begins another damn revolution, but this time within the Warden ranks. I’ve got a whole-ass image in my mind for this and honestly I could totally see Padril thinking about it often, lmfao

⭐ Doesn’t believe in regret. Thinks that whatever feels right in the moment is the right thing to do, regardless of the consequences.

⭐ Often introduces herself to new people under a fake name, just because. Variety is the spice of life.

⭐ Is very interested in the stars, and enjoys tracking the constellations, and learning different folklore stories from around the world relating to them.

⭐ Sleeps best outside, where she can hear nature around her and watch the stars. Had a large treehouse built at Caed Nua, and sleeps there most of the time when she is actually at the keep.

3N: Is there anything they absolutely can’t believe people do?

He doesn’t much understand folk who have these ideas about how godlike are supposed to be. Like, yes I am supposed to be a big scary, death loving freak? A sideshow attraction because of the way my face was made? He is a person like them. Well an elf, but that is beside the point. He doesn’t like readily made assumptions based on how people look.

He also doesn’t understand why Aedryans dress the way they do. He just....doesn’t get it.

5N: Have they done anything they thought they’d never do?

Tbh the whole of his life is an exercise in things he never thought he would do. He had the idea as a young man to settle down on a farm like the one he grew up on and live the rest of his life that way. Go on a  few exciting adventures and meet some fun people. When he left home and went to the Vallian Republics, he half expected to find his sister and settle down and have a nice little life. His sister sort of flushed those plans away and him unknowingly booking passage to the Deadfire another. The whole Watcher thing is yet again another thing he never thought he would find himself doing, but one he has grown to accept for the people he found. The big solace he has in his life not turning out the way he wanted is that he never would have found the people he has--especially the man he loves--and the perspective that comes with time. 

3F: Who would they have the most fun with?

He has a load of fun with Eder. They have a lot of goofy fun together. Aoife isn't so good with being clever and the like, but he is excellent at coming up with prank ideas that Eder will take and use to great effect. Aoife has definitely been on the short end of a prank he has thought of more than once.

3: Does your OC behave differently around different people, if so with whom and how?

She doesn’t necessarily behave completely differently around different people, but she does have a tendency to hide her real emotional state from the majority of people. She’ll act like she’s confident in herself and that she believes everything is going to work out, because she believes that that is what other people need to see and hear, and will only be honest about her doubts and fears with a very small circle of people; the ones who she is closest to.

4: Would your OC want to involve themselves in humanitarian work? If yes, then for what? If not, then why not?

For sure! She’s all about helping people and doing what she can to improve the lives of others. She almost certainly helped out with the efforts to piece Defiance Bay back together, and would happily provide work or a place to stay for anyone who needed it at Caed Nua, or somewhere in the surrounding lands, It was well-known that her estate served as a safe haven for Eothasians during her time in the Dyrwood, and during her time in the Deadfire, she spent a lot of time trying to find ways to improve the lives of the people living in The Gullet in Neketaka. She hates to see other people struggle!

23: Does your OC tend to hide something about their personality/essence when meeting new people? If yes, what?
