I have a friend who was so proud and vocal about voting for Harambe on Tuesday morning
I'm really angry at them right now. Over politics, which is so goddamn petty I can't stand it, but really. They convinced a good 20 other friends to do the same—to vote dead gorilla. "It's not a wasted vote—I'm speaking out for animal rights!!!" That their reasoning publicly anyway—privately I think they wanted to be "that guy" (if I, a lady can be "that guy" I assume a non binary human can also be "that guy") you know? Thought it was bloody well hilarious. But as it got later and later on Tuesday they started posting pictures of their bloody, bitten down fingernails, all, "This is a little too close for comfort, yall." By morning their feed was, "What the actual fuck, America?" and, "How in the hell did this happen?" If this is not the outcome you wanted, you had a shot to do something about it. You stood in that booth and wrote in a dead fucking gorilla who had ZERO chance of doing anything truly worthwhile. Don't complain now.
I still can't believe that there were 14,000+ votes for Harambe... Why?
